Dave, love that last pic.
Here's a pic idea - grab some bits n pieces and scatter them by the vehicle, put a backdrop of a large shed behind it and it would all look like an old vehicle left abandoned on someone's property, awaiting discovery for restoration.

But then you would have to build an interior.

I think the joke was Ford vs Chevy...the Ford is in rougher shape.
But then again, I don't put Chevy's over Fords...they are both rust buckets.
And anything 70 years old, left to die in a field, is going to be a rusty mess.

...
Quick update...I am redesigning, rebuilding, regretting the entire front clip of the vehicle.
Everything front of the firewall, that I have already designed, has been tossed out (for now).
There were a number of fit and dimensional issues...
and now that I have a frame/chassis to work from, a number of my calculations were off.

I also found a few variations in FATs, not just between Ford and Chevy, and I want to try a different design.

So, next report might be delayed.

As I hinted, I had to make some changes to the front clip.
My first test design turned out to be quite a bit different from the proper Ford design that should be on this vehicle.
(Ford and Chevy, for some unknown reason, created entirely different Engine and Radiator covers)

I had to also change the width and shape of the front facing, redesign the grille covering, and add the radiator filler neck.

Oh, and those little add-on louver plates you still see on the front, are mostly Chevy design...this Ford should have built in louvers.
So thats been changed too!
But this build will have to stay as it is.

After numerous attempts to get all the angles right, I finally hit on a complete assembly that lines up nicely to the body
and sits nicely against the front frame.

...
Not sure if I want to glue it in place yet (to the firewall)...I am still refitting the Steering gear.
oh yes...I had to move the Steering Box...too far forward.
But I will have to attach the clip to the body to position the Radiator.

Even though the engine "hood" is fixed, and the exposed radiator filler neck is a fake,
I still want to fit a full Radiator into the frame below, because it can be seen from underneath.

I just need to align it properly, since it will fit into a cutout in the underside of the Hood assembly.

Then, once the front clip is attached, I can sort out those big wide Fenders!
Another thing that has me worried.
I am hoping everything is properly shaped and the fenders will clear all obstacles.
Fingers crossed!

I know it's off topic, but when you see the design work involved here, you can see why pirating is so wrong!

Looking good.
Were these all built as right-hand drives?
(I noticed the steering on the right side in those old photos)
