So...the big reveal!

Issue One
Rare & Unusual Paint Schemes Series 3 - B-24 Liberator!

W.A.Harriman's #76 LB30
(Army Air Corps - Air Transport Command reclaimed RAF B-24A)

I think the RAF Black night Bomber paint scheme is so cool!
The upper green and brown Camo is retained...
but the added US patriotic elements really made this plane stand out to me!
I thought it was a very unique looking B-24
and the perfect first Issue for this new series!

I've tried to recreate the look of the paint scheme and camouflage
and added a lot of details like rivets, and surface shading.

I have made a number of modifications to the original Marek kit, like:

Updated formers.
Wheel Well inserts.
Gear Up wing details (photo-realistic)
New Propellor assemblies (with photo-realistic details)
LB30 Fuselage modifications including a new tail assembly (no-turret)
and Cockpit Canopy
New Engine cowlings and photo-realistic engines.
...and much more.

Just a few more things to tweak, and PDF pages to finalize
and it will be available shortly at ecardmodels!

For all you B-24 and Bomber fans - I hope you like it!

Wanna build it for FREE?! Contact Chris (at ecardmodels) or me, and tell us that you want to supply some photos of a built model for the Store listing! Agree to assemble the model in a timely manner (sorry, but its got to be a short term build), take some good photos of the assembled plane and we will send you the model for free!

Watch for Issue two later this month!

I am struggling through two of Marek's IAF planes, the 1948 S.199 and the 1948 Spitfire. I have the original B-25 as well, could not pass up a great deal. These are way more detailed then the Fiddler's Green models I am used too! You would think that after the couple of Fitter's models and the planes from Dir Kapfflaeger I could handl the detail but it is a slow build for me. I do hope to add a couple of those Mustangs of yours as well as this latest B-24. BTW, ever think of an Israel livery for your mustang collection?

Cool deal, I look foreward for more!

Thanks CT!
I did do the Israeli Black 57 Spit

but I guess I didn't come across a unique enough Mustang (Israeli) to catch my eye.

Its something I might come back to in the future,
but to be honest, after looking at nothing but Mustangs for about 3 months and putting out about 17 repaint versions...I am so sick of P-51s!!!! LOL

I don't know if i can help with anything on those Spits you are struggling with
but feel free to send me any questions.
I'll do my best.

I forgot about the Black 57! I have to get that one too. I love the IAF because of the whole "Underdog" theme to it. A bit like the Confederate ironclads in that way, sort of catch as you can. (But the Israelis had better luck with thier out dated stuff then did the Johnies!)

My stuggles come from the huge number of parts and the unfamilurarity of the style used by Marek. I had the same problem with the Fritter's E-III the first time I made that too. I am sure I will be able to get it done, but if i get confused (more then I am) I will give you a shout out! Thanks in advance.

I am going to give the B-24 a try (the one I have) and then move on to some more versions. I will say this, I was not much into aircraft befor modeling paper. I like ships. However, once bit by the paper bug, all things are atractive! I ven have a wood burning stove in paper...don't know why, just had to do it! So now I have 100s of planes waiting for me!

Hey CT;
Be careful, lol once the Airplane bug has bitten you , it is so very hard to go back, lol, but so many to choose from, and soo little time. Of course my issue is I was bitten by more than one danged bug... Planes, Sci-Fi, Armor, ships kinda, but only because of so many tiny parts.

Issue One should be in the store shortly!

As I stated earlier, if anyone would like to build a free one
in return for some store pics, just let me know.

Heres some more detail shots, from some of the pages, to illustrate some more of the repaint features...

-first two pics show some of the surface textures and colouring. You can also see the "gear up" artwork for the wings.
There are also parts to add a proper 3D closed wheel to the wing.
(If you want to build a gear down arrangement, you just cut out the wheels and doors and fit the added wheel well inserts.)

-third pic shows the new gear parts and wheel well inserts.

-fourth pic shows some more of my texturing and shading as well as the photo engine inserts.

-and last pic shows my redesigned propeller...I found Marek's a little too complicated to build and I think I simplified it considerably. Photo-realistic details as usual!
