Dave

I know, I know, you have too many cars to design already. But I hope you add it to the Kool Wheelz list anyway. It almost looks post-apocalyptic:

Update: Not sure why the link is falling. Try googling on the 52 Buick land speed holder Bombshell Betty. It's also up for sale if anyone is interested.

Its beautiful.
A normally aspirated straight 8?! Whats that from?
What class(es) though?

Its a record holder...but in what classes?
I'll have to go look that up.

Unfortunately its one of those cars with no angles.
Too many curves.
All rounded and such.
It would be a challenge in miniature paper.

But its definitely more interesting than, say, a Smart Car! lol

Its based off of a Buick straight 8. Here's the class breakdown: The XO class at Bonneville and El Mirage open to pre-’59 inline-six and eight-cylinder engines and non-Ford flathead V8s. The body class for the Buick is GCC, for Gas Competition Coupe. This class allows chopping the roof, adding a bellypan, and cowl-forward streamlining. The two designations come together in XO/GCC, which is then applied to the rear quarter-panel. Spend, or misspend, a lot of my youth looking over the hood of Buick straight 8s.

Thanks Whulsey...I found more...

XO is engine type, pre 1959 inline engine or flathead V8 except Ford and Mercury
However, the rules also allow the use of V8 and V12.

XO Class is sub-divided into
Supercharged and non-Supercharged,
Gas or Fuel,
specialty Cylinder Head,
Vehicle Type.

Betty is listed in XO/GCC class is a part of D category
— modified coupes and sedans with petrol engines
(Gas Competition Coupe vintage engine).

The car set a speed record of 165mph in 2013.
Not sure if there is anything of note since that time.

........
yes, its very very cool.
and would make a neat addition to the Koolwheelz Landspeederz.

But, there are a lot of other really cool LS cars
and this one is a pretty complicated shape to reproduce in paper miniature.

Who knows...I still have many other projects on the go.

Looks great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kinda looks a little bit like its sitting on a hedge!
lol sorry
...a short spout of jet blast in the middle, raising the car up a bit, might help?

But, who am I to criticize!?
I didn't do anything better!
I didn't do anything at all.

Sorry Dave...it really does look good.
