Most of these fixatives, sealers and clearcoats, are solvent based.
Solvent based sealers/clearcoats are not going to cause ink run or bleed
(unless you lay it on so thick that it really saturates the paper, like I may have done)

Flash coats are the best way to apply clearcoat.
The first coat(s) should be quick and light.
Just to lay down enough material to protect the underlying paintwork without really soaking in.
The flash coats are a barrier for the final clearcoat which is heavier.

I usually spray a light coat...wait a bit, then another light coat.
If I notice any weak areas, I will hit it again.

This time, for the Tumbler, I was rushing and laid down one heavy coat.
I could see it soaking in deep.

I'm on board with the Tumbler. Will print tomorrow and be ready when the new group build thread commences. I don't feel like using sealer, though.

I'll be out of town this weekend, so I hope I can be forgiven for printing and giving a shot of clear coat

New Tumbler...and then another new Tumbler...
get it...before I change it again! LOL

Augmented Tumbler is a rebuild of the second Gen Tumbler but with some layered parts
(I printed two sheets and cut out various body panel details).
I also cut out the 8 windows, and fitted clear plastic and printed layers behind each one.
Didn't create the depth I was hoping for, and it made it difficult to assemble the body
but.

That car looks very SW, especially with the background, like Luke got an upgrade for the landspeeder.
