Sorry Miles

...no Voyager version shuttle.
I am really not a fan of Voyager.
I forced myself to watch a few episodes over the years,
but I really didn't like the characters or stories.

Hasn't someone already done one of those shuttles?

But, yes...I am teasing you all with a clue to the next KoolWheelz release.
(I shouldn't have to explain this. lol)

"Why did the chicken cross the road?"

"Why did the Chicken cross the road?...to get from the left to the right."

"Thats a fact...Zot!"

We discussed the movie Stripes and the EM-50 project a long time ago
...but do you thnk I could find those comments?

Its like trying to find a Gascap in a Car Dealership.
This KoolWheelz thread is well over 1600 posts! wow

Anyway, shortly after our mention of this movie, I swore I would watch it again.
And anything with John Candy is worth watching more than once.

I finally got around to watching it a couple of months ago, and enjoyed it all over again.
I managed to get the "extended" edition...I think it just has more nudity. lol
A lot more than I remembered.

Of course, I immediately started work on the KoolWheelz model
and this past week I finally finished it.

Now, for those of you that are RV fans...I decided I wasn't really interested in the basic RV.
I wanted to do the EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicle, with its armoured panels and modified appearance.
But I also had to consider the overall scale, and getting all the parts on one sheet.
I also had to consider the size of some parts and how complicated I wanted it to be.

The UAV appears in various configurations in the film (I stockpiled a whole bunch of screencaps for reference).
One thing you'll notice in the posted photos, is the roof elevated Rocket Platform.
This does not come on the model sheet.

The Rocket Launcher assembly is very small, and tricky to build.
It was a complete afterthought.
And I had already run out of room on the Model sheet.

In the film, during action scenes, sliding panels on the Roof open.
At one point, the rear Air Conditioner slides forward, disappearing inside the front AC unit, to reveal a large rear roof opening which is never used for anything.
I think originally, this is where the Rocket Launcher was mounted and going to be elevated.
In scenes shot from the rear, with the rear door of the RV open,
you can see the Rocket Launcher below the rear AC unit.
But during the action scenes, the Rocket launcher must fire forwards,
and so the Rocket Launcher is elevated through a forward roof opening (just in front of the AC units).

I have a feeling this was a change made to fit within the storyline, but the vehicle had already been built.
Modifications had to be made for filming.
(Remember, this is back when they actually built custom, working vehicles for movies!)

So, I opted for a completely closed Roof, with the two visible AC units.
But all the other vehicle panels are activated.
Side Rear Wheels covers, and side Gun Ports.
Armoured Windows.
Drivers Periscope.
Front Wheel shielding....where do they come from?
Nose Armour panels and front Gun Ports.

The model is in scale with my other KoolWheelz models, but that still makes it about 5-6" long!
As I mentioned, the Model Sheet is tightly packed.
And since there is no room for any notes or instructions on the model sheet,
I made up a separate Instruction Page.
I'm also going to make up a separate PDF with the Rocket Launcher parts for those who want to add it.

I'll post everything soon!

Too cool!! I could only think of three things and spaceagent-9 hit on the other one. I mentioned the Chicken Pit Special first just in case you were tying into speedweeks in Daytona.
