Great contribution!

I created this model because of a recent request here on the forum.
At least, I'm sure I heard a quick, fairly quiet, request for this one? Don?

It was never really an idea of my own...even though I am a big fan of the Indiana Jones films.
The original three, anyway.
The Last Crusade is my second favorite, after the first film (Raiders of the Lost Ark)
and the Tank scenes are definitely a lot of fun.

However I never found the tank itself believable, thinking it was a weird custom built concoction based on a WW1 Rhomboid Tank.
Turns out I was partly right....and mostly wrong.
It is a fake Tank, built on a Excavator Tractor chassis...the original (now somewhat restored) sits in Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park.

But it is actually based on a real 1917 Mark 8 Rhomboid tank.

This movie "Mark VII" differs from its Mark 8 inspiration, in that the central Hull is shorter, flush with the top of the Tracks
and a more modern rotating Gun Turret has been added.
Keep in mind, the movie is set in 1938, and the Tank being used by the Nazis was given to them by the Sultan of Hatay...a republic of Turkey, North Africa.

As usual, once I do a little research on a subject, I become more interested in that subject...and designing the model version becomes a lot more of an interest too!

So, I've done a Koolwheelz version of the "Indy tank"

What a great contribution!

A historically valuable kit and a wanted vehicle for movie lovers.

It's really attractive too. Cant wait to see it posted for download. I'll build this one!

Thanks for starting out 2018 so well.

I also like the re-posting of that pretty Trek shuttle you did again; nice kit.

I was complimenting the work and saying it was a great value to the community, both those who like history and those who are movie buffs. I was looking forward to it being posted and for a build of to but I see someone else has already done that; and a fine job.

The other compliment was for the recent pic you posted of that pretty shuttle you designed, next to the Galactica kit. It was neat to see them side by side.

I wonder if you guys would like to take part in another contest?
We haven't done one in a while.
This could be a long term contest...to get us through until the Spring or Summer.

I'd like to see more Koolwheelz models built, so maybe a diorama contest?
...use a Koolwheelz model and put it into a diorama display?

Or...any of my models for that matter?
I could make it open to any of my kits, not just the koolwheelz,
but my free models obviously make it easier for everyone.

I'm gonna think more about this.
I can offer some store credit as prizes, or something like that.
hmmmm

any feelings on this?

Long term would be good. I'm not good for much just yet. But my fingertips aren't bleeding/oozing anymore
