Craig Breedlove's Spirit of America Sonic-1.
Some Koolwheelz designs work...and some don't.

I thought about this one for a very long time, but Craig Breedlove's Sonic 1 is just too big,
and has a shape that is just too complicated for my simplified style and very limited part count.

I had an idea...for a way to stylize the shape and simplify it down to one or two parts.
I tried it...changed it...tried it again...and changed it again.

As you can tell, I'm not that happy with the final design
...so don't tell me "its too boxy!" or "the body is too narrow at the rear!" LOL. I know all this!
I'm well aware of the alterations I have made (to the overall shape) to turn it into a one sheet paper model.

But...it does look vaguely like Sonic-1...and it ain't gonna get any better!
So this is what you get!

American race car driver Craig Breedlove is a five time World Land Speed Record Holder setting speed records in his three wheel jet powered Spirit of America
and then again in the four wheeled Spirit of America Sonic 1, Breedlove was the first man to break 400, 500 and 600 mile per hour land speeds. Sonic 1's impressive
top speed of 608mph (979km/h) stood as the record for more than 5 years until being broken in 1970 by Gary Gabelich's Blue Flame rocket powered car.

Interestingly (in 1965), Breedlove's Wife Lee, also piloted Sonic 1 on four high speed runs over 300mph (500km/h) making her the fastest Woman driver on Earth
...and making Craig and Lee "the fastest couple alive", a record that still stands.

Spirit of America Sonic-1 was the last Jet powered LSR car until Britain's jet powered Thrust SSC took the record in 1997.
Interim records were all set by Rocket powered vehicles.

Developing 15000lbs of thrust, Sonic1's Turbojet engine is a General Electric J79 from an F4 Phantom Fighter.
The car is almost 38 feet long (11.5m) and weighs just over 8000lbs (3600 kg)

You can find the Sonic 1 model in the collection of Land Speederz (in the Racerz section of the KoolWheelz collection).
There will also be an Assembly sheet available for this model (in the Assembly Diagrams thread at my forum www.papermodelforum.com).

Mediafire appears to be having some technical issues.
I have submitted a ticket for answers,
but I'm guessing its a technical glitch at their end.

Some of my files and Images are not loading, not working.
If you have a problem seeing an image or downloading a file (like a Koolwheelz model)
just be patient...come back to it tomorrow, or the next day.

The shuttle in the video is of TOS Star Trek Shuttle (TV).
The blur in the picture is a shuttle from the Enterprise A, in The Final Frontier movie.
Or there abouts.
