I tend to agree with comments about the need for "reboots" of old series and movies.
Many of these rehashes do NOT need to be made!

But, at the same time, I like the idea of rebooting a much loved series with new effects, new music, new actors,
and bringing up to date for a new generation that might not otherwise experience it.

And, along those lines...I must say, the new Magnum PI series looks like fun
with just the right amount of tribute to the original.
if it works, I might just have to add a Ferrari to the collection!

So do I see a Ferrari 308 in the future for Kool Wheelz?

That looks considerably more interesting than I thought it would be. Hmmm

I know these shows are somewhat cookie cutter format....
and I don't usually bother with them

but I see a few nods to the original show
(like TC's chopper!)
and I like the fact that Higgins is not an annoying little manservant
(the one element I hated about the original show).

The group of actors seem like an okay bunch,
and the show doesn't look like another MacGyver clone.
(wow I hated that one too!)

Magnum PI was not the worst of the bunch back in the 80s,
so I might just give the reboot a watch (if theres nothing else important on).
And, I want to see if Selleck gets a cameo!

So....Magnum jumps out of a car going over a cliff, onto the roof of the truck that crashed into said car, also going over the cliff, and then up onto the skid of a helicopter that is flying over the truck.....
Awesome 😁😁😁

yup....and in a galaxy far far away, the "force" exists.
wherever you go...silliness follows!

This is what ruins every show like this, and why I don't usually watch.
Characters are superhuman, too pretty, and never go to the toilet.

What ya gonna do?

okay, one more new Koolwheelz model to finish off this last batch of models.
As previously revealed...

its (Bill Cosby)Mother's customized Van-Ambulance from the movie Mother, Jugs & Speed.

Late in the 70s, movie producers were cranking out movies that appealed to Vanners and custom Van fans.
But this movie really had nothing to do with customized Vans.
The custom Van craze was at its peak and thats what I was interested in..and thats why I was excited to see this movie..

In an attempt to cash in on the custom Van trend, the makers of Mother, Jugs & Speed
created a false connection to the Van craze to lure people to the Theaters.
The Ambulance in the film sported wide tires and custom wheels, fender flares and stylin' paint!
But the Theater Lobby Posters featured a hot rodded, cartoonish and overly customized Van-bulance.
Much wilder than what was in the film, and much more important!

I can remember charging to the Drive-In theater to see this film just because of the artwork in those advertising Posters!
Unfortunately the actual Chevy Van Ambulance in the movie, driven by Mother (Bill Cosby) looked a lot tamer than the poster version.
And although the plot of the film revolved around Ambulances and Paramedics, the van was definitely not the star of the film.

This created a difficult decision for me...my fondest recollections of this film are related to that movie poster hot rod van.
And yet, to be true to the film, and to my collection of Star Carz, I had to consider the actual GM/Chevy Van as it appeared in the movie.
Although I really love that cartoon look, I was torn about which way to go with the Koolwheelz version.

I don't know if the movie van was a Chevy Van or a GMC Vandura, although the listing at imcdb.org claims it was a 1975 Chevy Van 20 (3/4ton),
All nameplates and logos had been removed from the customized van...even the front Grille was a custom piece...hiding any identification.
Theres no actual difference between the GMC or Chevy Vans, other than the name, grille and badges, so it really doesn't matter that much.
I owned a customized 1977 Chevy Van 20 (in 1979), so I know a little bit about these.
So, with the Koolwheelz version, I just stuck to the basic Chevy/GM shape.

I don't have any real fond memories of this film...in fact I have barely any memories at all...
so I had to rewatch the film for the first time since 1976!
I had vivid memories of Raquel Welch from this film, but even those turned out to be inflated dreams! lol
Its still a fairly forgettable film.
although I forgot Larry Hagman was in it...he plays a very dislikable character, and plays it well.
I don't recommend you go to any trouble to see it, but if you are curious...check it out...I've seen much worse films.

I think the Koolwheelz version of Mother's Van is a straightforward build.
But there are a few very small parts (lights, mirrors, etc) so break out the magnifying glasses!

You'll find the model in the StarCarz section!
