Dune Buggy?...?!?...hahahahahahahahaha

...
Another Koolwheelz Star Wars model you say?
I'll admit, this is something of a departure for me.
Despite being a lifelong Science Fiction film fan, I never joined the Star Wars fan club. Poo poo the Jedi.

Yes, I saw the original film when it came out in 1977
...but beyond the state of the art effects and miniatures, I found the story weak, the dialogue cheesy, and most of the actors were unappealing.
I did enjoy the homage to vintage serials and older sci-fi films, but I felt like I had seen it all before.
And I found the next two films repetitive and even less interesting.

Those furry teddy bears with guns in the third film were too much, and finally put me right off.
Lets not talk about Jar Jar.

Don't get me started on the Lucas freight train of merchandise marketing...
Its as if this was his only motivation for making Star Wars films...it sure felt that way with each film.

Even the current Disney series The Mandalorian (which I'll admit, I have been watching and enjoying)
still feels like nothing more than a way of introducing another collectible character and kids toy (yodababy).

Regardless, the original Star Wars featured some very cool vehicles...brought to life as miniatures and full scale creations.
And one vehicle in particular made a lasting impression on me, basically for its sheer size....
the Jawa Sandcrawler.

While the vehicle used in the film was nothing more than a 2 foot scale model, it represented a vehicle of immense size.
I remember imagining this six story tracked crawler slowly lumbering its way through the desert and canyons, manouevering ever so carefully.
And the Jawas being such a small people...made the contrast of the huge Sandcrawler even more impressive.
I imagined an entire city of industry and people living inside the vehicle.

Since I already created the Star Wars Landspeeder model, I felt obligated to create a Koolwheelz version of the Sandcrawler.
Especially since it interested me more than the Landspeeder!
Unfortunately, they can't be anywhere near to the same scale, so you'll have put up with a very small Koolwheelz 'size' Sandcrawler.

And, its not an easy build...sorry...with some tricky connections and a few small parts.
I hate the fact that its another two page model, but I had to enlarge the model to a more workable size, and that meant stretching out to a second model sheet.
But it also allowed me to include some basic assembly diagrams on the second page.

Look for the Sandcrawler in the SpaceCarz section of Koolwheelz.

That is one very neat dune bu - I mean, Sandcrawler. The texturing and engineering are great. Congrats on this one.
