Great stuff Dave - another one to add to the collection. Thank you.

-------------------------

Whether Bloodhound ever does run is another story. The shoddy manner in which Grafton LSR dealt with their supporters, and commercial and private sponsors was poor to say the least. Apparently, after taking over they felt that they owed no one anything.

Here in South Africa, a number of volunteers gave time and expertise, as well as organised substantial sponsorship. In my case and that of other volunteers I was working with, we were cut off cold - no further communications, no response to e-mails, no response to voice messages. Quite amazing.

I organised $ 150,000.00 sponsorship in terms of local logistics for the next round, including specialised support. This has now gone by the board and would still have been available had they bothered to communicate with their supporters or sponsors here. The way it was all dropped in haste made us believe there was never really any further intention of proceeding!

Hopefully, someone will take over with the motivation, drive and willingness to drive it as Thrust SSC was driven - successfully, passionately and enthusiastically. Thrust came close to failure a few times, but every time supporters made the difference with their pennies and pounds (from acorns grow oak trees) and unwavering support.

The Thrust team themselves and their organisation was fantastic!

You know what I would like to see?
Is an organization like the RAF take it over.
Andy Green is an ex-RAF pilot.
Wouldn't it be a cool promotional thing for them?
With all the associated modern engineering and computer tech involved.
And to see it dressed in RAF livery.
Maybe an RAF Red Arrows tie in?

The project has always been touted as very British.
And the Brits have always been involved in speed records.

The Queen is worth £600 million.
Prince Andrew has nothing to do.

True - great ideas!

Are you taking note Prince Andrew? (Maybe he is a secret paper modeler?)

aww he'd just deny he had anything to do with the project and go to Pizza Express.

But I still like the Red Arrows livery idea!

Well not really if you are putting up to build.

-----------------------------------------

PS - Dave are you doing a Xmas model this year or have you temporarily abandoned the idea?

No, no - that was just a quick and dirty paste-up. If you started, please finish as yours would be a finished product. Mine was not something that would be for making available for builds.
Something just to encourage you .

Regards,
John

I have been working on a Holiday model.

But it has turned out to be a difficult model to assemble.
A bit too difficult (I think) for a Holiday model.

I may have to get a test builder to give me their opinion, before I release it.
