I beg to differ, there is a Schlep the wonder bug, it is from the tv show "The Kroft Super show" from back in 1976 thru 1978.

Wonderbug - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I didn't really want you to build any of these I mentioned, was just pulling your leg. I know you are way to busy and already have a list a mile long.

a Kool Wheelz update!

Since its been a while, I thought maybe I should update...

motivated by 8Th Month's post today of his big scale Snot Rod build!
A full 9" long!...I'd say thats about 300% larger!

Nice work!
AirDave's Kool Wheelz Collection-dsc06245.jpg

............

Obviously other projects have kept me busy and away from any new Kool Wheelz release...
but that doesn't mean there hasn't been any work!

First of all, theres the Moon Mixer!

This is an old Plastic Model Custom Car, by Monogram (1970s)

Not a Model that I chose...this kit was suggested by John Leslie (Lower Hudson Valley Paper Model Shop)
after I offered to produce a special Kool Wheelz edition
to help celebrate the 1,000,00th visitor to the Lower Hudson Valley PaperModel Shop.

Since John's site is known for the Space related models, we tried to stay within that theme.

The Moon Mixer will also include a specially designed reproduction miniature Moon Mixer Model Box with 1,000,000 visitor artwork.

At only about 3" long, its not the easiest build...
there are a few small parts, but its all presented in the usual Kool Wheelz package and will be a free download.

However, it will only be available at Lower Hudson Valley
(at least for the first Month)
and thats also where you will be able to get the limited editon Model Box!

Can't tell you how soon it will be released, you will just have to watch John's site!

..............................

I'm working on a special Christmas release...no promises yet, its turning out to be a little more complicated than I had originally planned.

Its not my normal Kool Wheelz venture...in fact, it doesn't fit at all! lol
Its not a "custom car"...its not even a car!

but its an interesting model that I have been thinking about for sometime
and it might be really cool in miniature Kool Wheelz format!
And i think it will be a cool idea for an Xmas giveaway!

...............................

Other Kool Wheelz models in the works?
Yes! Many!

but these (below) are actually in the design phase
and I have been working on the artwork:

Blade Runner Deckards Ground Police Car.
(also considering a fully marked Police version)

Chuck Miller's Fire Wagon

The StageCoach

LeMans Porsche 917

.................

Thats all I can give away at the moment.
Stay tuned!

I am so happy to see this ... not that I haven't enjoyed following the progress on the PT Boat and the 'unusual' planes.

With Webdude in apparent retirement, and you having branched into the "Cars" theme with SnotRod, Dave, have you been tempted by any of Cars 2 characters?

I haven't seen the film yet, but oh do I want these or what?

Especially the DS and the Mehari. Both very close to my heart. In fact, a straight forward scale model of a Mehari would be most welcome too.

Johnny.

Johnny.
not really "branching into" CARS models.
(and to be honest, don't want to get too heavily involved in Disney stuff.
Last thing I need is to get their attention and have them force me to stop sharing these models.
Disney is very protective of their property and can be extremely aggresive in that respect.
One or two models might be okay, but if I started creating a whole series...they might start looking past the whole fan-art aspect of it.)

Snot Rod and Ramone were very early models in my KoolWheelz collection.
The only two vehicles I was interested in doing at that time.

Snot Rod because its a Drag Car
and Ramone because I am a Custom Painter and I love me a nice '59 Impala!

Fillmore appeared because of a need to create another VW Van model (for a Fathers Day gift).

I'll be honest, Hudson Hornet and The King are probably the only other two character cars I am interested in
...but they would be near the bottom of my to-do list.

I also have not seen the second film yet
...but unless theres something really special for me, I can't see being interested in any more of the CARS vehicles.

Okey Dokey. Understood. Especially the Disney angle.

For me the Doc stole the show, but I supose that's because I used to have one. Actually mine was a Commodore not a Hornet. Same difference but a bit posher, and not so "hot", but what a cruiser that was though. Spent a lotta time on that huge back seat.

Strange that the humble Caddy never got a character part?

Can't tempt you with a proper Mehari then? No-one makes models of them.
Probably because few people have ever seen one.

Johnny.

PS: Just googled Mehari ... Ebay is stacked.

Cool ! Cheers Rick. I've also just ordered a Michelin Promo one off Ebay,
but I can quite see this one developing some eyes in it's windscreen.

I'm actually a big car man at heart (currently a v8 Range Rover and a Mk2 Jag) with an uncontrollable love of the Goddess (Citroen DS), but some years back out on a job, this forlorn little Mehari peeped out at me from under a tarp. It's owner said he was thinking of cutting it in half to use as a trailer !!! ... Just couldn't let that happen, so £50 changed hands and he fork lifted it onto my truck. Fortunately I was travelling back empty.

Some ten years later, I often get a clip round the ear if she catches me looking at them on EBay. Ok, they're ugly ... All 2CV and derivatives are, but a Mehari is just so cute with it, and they are real fun to drive ... so long as it ain't raining.

Johnny.

Woo Hoo! Only need 155,113 more visitors until the Moon Mixer comes available.

I think I'll have to run some numbers to get a rough idea of when 1,000,000 might hit
