Since the PT Boat is done (for the time being) and I haven't got anything else I have to build right now...
I have been able to catch up on some current KoolWheelz projects. A special Xmas release is almost done! Just got one more test build to do (probably this weekend). Sorry, can't give you any more info on that one. Tonight however, I am dealing with two white builds. Thats when I test out the preliminary design of the Body and Chassis. And the test builds went perfect! 20 points if you can identify this one. I'll give you a clue....no, I won't.

Background looks like a dragracing pickup. One that can do wheelies.

haha...the model in the background just happened to be there when I took the photo!
It wasn't meant to stump you guys. Its also not a big secret...I just didn't think that many would be that interested. (You Drag Racing fans will probably show more interest in it.) You are correct Legion...it is a Drag Racer, but not a wheel stander. Its a model I have thought about doing for sometime just because of my personal connection. The "Truck" is named Dragula 2001 in honor of the Munster's Drag-u-la. Its a Drag Truck that came to me back in 2000 to be custom painted. The owner had an interest in Show Cars and wanted to build a "wild" looking Truck. He also had (limited) plans to drive it on the street.. So, I made him a deal...and I got involved in the rebuilding of the Truck and of course, I did the Paint job on it. I designed a number of parts on the vehicle and helped assemble quite a bit of it. (I used to be an Auto mechanic) It a "Pro Street Mini Truck" originally based on a 1972 Ford Courier . Although the only thing left of the Courier is the outer shell of the Cabin, everything else is hand built aluminum and fiberglass. Steel tube chassis with a 427 big block (.030 over) with 6-71 Supercharger and Nitrous. Horsepower was estimated at about 1200hp I also built a full Show display for it. We toured for two years, did all the Car Shows in Southern Ontario and Northern US. The Truck won many awards including a few Best of Show and at least 6 top paint/artwork awards. One year it was even used as the commemorative Clock given to all participants at a big Car Show. yes, it was regularly driven on the Street! but mainly just at Car Shows and Events. There a whole set of photos of the Truck on my website HERE [sorry, don't like the music in this video, but YouTube killed my original] After the Show Car touring, the owner started to race the Truck. Never did that great...but it was a starting point for him, he moved on to Rails and ProMod style cars. Unfortunately the Truck was destroyed in '05. At a local Show'n'Shine event, he was pushed to take part in a "burnout" competition. During the burnout, the throttle stuck wide open and the Truck took off. He was thrown from the drivers seat (hadn't secured his harness!) and so he wasn't able to get control of the Truck until it crashed. So...I am in the process of creating a paper version! It won't be technical accurate...more of a cartoon stylized version. But hopefully I can transfer some of the custom paint into the design.

Cool story. Too bad it was destroyed. And great artwork as usual. Just curious - how far was the front of the truck extended? It seems longer than stock. Surprised it didn't do well on the track with 1200hp.
