Exactly Miles! I made a point of taking the Shuttle, since it is one of my favorite models and I think its a favorite of many. I even picked it up once or twice to remind myself to take it. See, at home, it doesn't sit with the other KoolWheelz models. I have it on a different shelf, with other Star Trek stuff. So, I guess when it came time to pack, I forgot all about it. And never noticed it until I got to Virginia.

This movie is in my top 5 favourites. Time to get a copy on blu-ray I think.

The latest KoolWheelz model is actually one of my oldest ideas.
Its been on and off the list so many times, but its actually one of the first cars I had in mind for a miniature model. There are only a handful of really good "car" movies, that feature real people, real racing, real hot rods and race cars. Nowadays we get 90 minutes of fake CGI, and racing stories written by people who know more about Lattes and iPods than cars. Anyway, I think "Two-Lane Blacktop" is one of those "great" car films. And I was blown away by the 55 Bel Air the first time I saw it. No, it might not be a cheesy award winning drama...but it is a slice of late 60s life on the road. The characters are real, the cars are real, the racing is real. I have since dreamed of owning a '55...and laughed at all the '57 fans! lol So, here is my simple rendition of the gray primered '55, driven by the great James Taylor ...damn this traffic jam Get it fast, or you'll really be furious. In the KoolWheels Racerz and Showcarz section of your local AirDave Supermarket.

Try it again...I was replacing the file.
'56 is still nicer than '57...little fins. I like fins...just not on this car. But if you want a drag car, the '55 is lighter.

Kool! This led me to search for another car movie I remember as a youth: Hot Rods to Hell. It wasn't a great movie but had a nice '58 Vette and one brief scene where the all the streetrods were lined up in the desert.

Two Lane Blacktop is a fave of mine. I think it might have been the first movie I ordered when I started Netflix years ago. Your model looks simple but kool. Thank you for this newest model.

Yeah, I looked at the complicated shape of that Chevy hood
and then looked at the scale size of the model... and said "no way!". Too many overly complicated KoolWheelz models in the pile now. I need to get back to the original style and purpose of these models. Simple, easy to build, fewer parts. Throwing in a "Medium" or "Hard" one every now and then is fine, but I haven't made a "Easy" skill model in months...maybe years. Time to do a few of those again. [Granted, I gave the '55 a "Medium" skill rating because of the full Wheels, and the Hood Scoop. Small assemblies that require a little bit of patience.]
