So, I mentioned in the August Release Party thread,
that I could maybe do a KoolWheelz model that somehow tied in with this years IPMC.

I think I only got one suggestion (from Don Boose)
for the fantasy Mk8(Mk7) rhomboid Tank featured in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
While this is a favorite film of mine, and an interesting vehicle,
it is turning out to be a little too complicated for a single sheet KoolWheelz model.
At least, that is, if I try to keep some sort of film accuracy.

So that idea is "on the list" but also "on the back burner" for the time being.

As it turns out, I also happen to have miniature (KoolWheelz scale) versions of Little Willie.
I wonder if I could make a special IPMC version of the Little Willie tank?
You know, maybe with a logo, lettering on the side? "IPMC 2017"
Or, maybe not...you'd have to explain it to everyone.

Before I suggested any of this, Rick Steffers asked me about a certain plastic model...
if I could turn it into a KoolWheelz model.
It was a cartooned hot rod style Tanker Truck.

But it was a bit complicated ...and since I have no personal interest in the model,
I basically turned him down.
Had it been a Tom Daniel's design , I would have said yes...but alas, it is not.

I looked through all of Tom Daniels designs to see if there was something related to Tanks or Tankers (the theme for this year's IPMC)...
there is not.

Any other ideas, from anyone?

I have two suggestions, one that might pique your interests, and your history, the other one, maybe not so much

Any tanker truck in the style of Dinky
https://goo.gl/KsBBVP
Or tank in the style of Dinky
https://goo.gl/4k3pRa

Or something like that looks like this Matchbox tanker

The paper model was created by Richard Vyskovsky, copied from the Matchbox toy no doubt

How about Fire Iron?

edit; Oops re-read your post. That would only work if the little water tank on board counted. I suppose you could do one some time anyway...

Why not Little Willie with a custom Koolwheelz/IPMC logo on the bottom?

Unfortunately, Tom's design is basically a Ladder Truck.
Now, had it been a Pumper....

Rick, I personally don't havea big interest in Matchbox.
Especially not later stuff (70s, 80, 90s...or Mattel Matchbox.
Since that Truck has already been done by ABC models,
then I dont think I want to copy it.
It would have been fun to do some fake liveries though.

...
off topic...I am once again not getting notifications of posts.
Such as this thread, which I am obviously subscribed to.
I checked...the instant emal notification is still in place for all my subscriptions.
But I have not gotten a single notice in a month or two, or three.

Dave, can you report this directly to Jason?

You are not the only one who still experiences this, I have a suspicion that the Hosting Co. is doing something with email notifications, apparently new members are not getting the notification emails as well.

and I can trace the questions and comments about this particular problem back to around April, so your 3-4 months seems to be spot on

Rick

I think he was looking for a '64...63 has the rear split window, 64 doesn't.
Other than that, they are the same car.

Thats a 1/36 scale...a bit bigger...but looks like a nice design.
