Though it doesn't show up in the photo, I decided on a score and light bent line from the bottom of the rear window to the top point of the vehicle's nose - just because the cab narrows from there to the width of the roof, and I (personally) felt it helped with the build.

Right. Thats the spot I meant.
Thats the only place where the side panels have to bend or fold.
A scored fold allows for a tighter fit, but a gentle bend is cleaner.
Either way works.

The next Koolwheelz release for 2018 is the Eagle Transporter from TVs Space 1999

........
As a young lad, my love of TV shows, Science Fiction and scale models, started with Fireball XL5, Supercar and Stingray.
I loved anything Gerry Anderson ...and I followed Thunderbirds, Joe 90 and Captain Scarlet into the future!

But when UFO came along, I was totally hooked.
Everything I loved about Gerry Anderson shows and special effects, mixed with reality and live action.
And although it was slated to be continued as a Moonbase series, UFO was finished after only one season,
and its sequel was rewritten as a totally new show called Space 1999.

I didn't like the new storylines or the use of cheap TV special effects in Space 1999.
I was reminded of early Doctor Who episodes with rubber suited aliens and low quality visual effects.
I didn't like early Doctor Who either.
And I especially did not like any of the main actors in Space 1999.
Overacting is fine...for puppets...but not in real Space. LOL
So, I didn't bother with the series.

I did however recognize the continued use of fantastic model miniatures and the iconic spacecraft designs of Brian Johnson.
The show continued with many elements of earlier Anderson shows that I loved.
Most elements were meant to be carry overs from the UFO Tv show, and the new Eagle Transporter was another vehicle modeled by Dinky Toys.
I never owned a Dinky Toy Eagle when I was young, but I did own a UFO Interceptor.

Anyway, once again, I have stylized, and simplified the design...to make a model that complies with the Koolwheelz limitations.
I don't know the actual scale size of this Eagle, I just made it small enough to squeeze all the parts onto two pages.
It was too small to do the normal One-Page Koolwheelz thing!
Its a big craft, even at this small of a scale!

And I've also created a separate Assembly sheet...mainly to illustrate part placement, since this isn't a difficult model to build.
(find it in the Assembly Diagrams thread, at cutandfold-papermodelforum.com)

Find the model in the Koolwheelz - Star Carz section at my website.

OH KOOL. Thanks for the complete and relatively easy model of the Eagles. Just one picture request: A more head on picture so we can see the cockpit windows?
Thanks

Sorry but I don't have any other photos at the moment.
I didn't do anything special with the windows...just some colouring.
I guess you'll just have to build it and show us your own photos?

Battlestar Galactica Colonial Viper Mk II

Okay, so I was never much of a fan of the original BSG...80s TV was not my cup of tea.
But I didn't hate everything.
For example, in BSG, I really did like the spacecraft designs.
And the Cylons themselves were very cool...in a "man in a robot suit" kind of way.

I really fell in love with the remake...or is it a sequel?... to BSG, made 30 years later.
Some of the most amazing visual stuff I have seen on TV.

I really loved the new craft designs, but the show also paid homage to the older craft by including them in various ways.
When it came time to create a paper Viper, I wasn't sure about whether to model the Mark 1, 2 or 3 design.
I settled on the Mark 2 for a couple of reasons.
Its a throwback to the original mark 1 styling, but its a little more refined and less clunky looking.
Its also the simpler shape to model as a paper miniature.

As usual, my Koolwheelz models are more simplicity and stylized design,
so please don't cry for scale or technical accuracy.
It looks like a Viper...and thats close enough for me.

I have scaled the model to just about the same scale as my Star Trek Galileo Shuttlecraft.
But fitting all the parts onto the model sheet was a more important consideration, so please don't expect an accurate comparison.
From one online source, I learned that a Viper spaceraft was about 27 feet long.
From that you should be able to calculate a scale number after you print and build the model.

I've created an Assembly Sheet for this also.
Look in the Assembly Diagrams section at cutandfold-papermodelforum.com.

Find the model in the Star Carz section of the Koolwheelz Collection (at Dave's Card Creations).
*I'm thinking the Star Carz page is getting too long... I might have to create a separate page for Sci-Fi models?
