At another forum, someone requested a cybertruck version that I just couldn't get to look right, so I did the Cybertruck Sport. All I did was skew the roof peak back. If this were done on the real vehicle, I think it would look a lot better, increase rear seat head room and would still have the same vault size. I won't post it in Dave's thread, but it amazes me that a simple change can actually make it not look bad

KoolWheelz 2020

This year will see a new batch of Koolwheelz models.
No, that doesn't mean inundate me with requests! lol I already have my to-do list created.

Lets get started!...

the first new model may not interest everyone, but its something I needed to get out of the way.
Its a refit/remod of one of my earliest Koolwheelz:
Ed Straker's Car from the Gerry Anderson TV series UFO

I was inspired to revisit this model when I read about the restoration of the original car.
I have no idea if the project was ever completed, but heres an article about it:
https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2013/1...r-rises-again/

I was never happy with how long and narrow this model turned out.
The actual car is indeed long and narrow...but theres a peculiar thing about scale model cars.
I learned this from Mattel Hot Wheels. To look right, model cars often need to be wider than scale (as they get smaller).

Anyway, the width of the car model, and a few other areas needed to be tweaked.
I especially didn't like the way the tail end flared out after assembly.
I also altered the paint colour and other artwork details.
I'm a lot happier with this version.

The old Koolwheelz model is gone...the download will give you the updated model.
...in the Koolwheelz SpaceCarz section

Love that show. To bad it was so short lived. May props re-purposed in space 1999. Thanks for the car!

UFO didn't do that well in the UK...actually had a better response in the US.
So the second season was technically shelved.
It involved Moonbase and adventures there.
Space 1999 was actually just a rewrite of UFO season two with new actors...thats why you see so many connections.

Fine model, and I am glad to see the KoolWheelz 2020 series commence. I'm not doing much modeling just now, and if I build any KoolWheelz, I will try to clean up the backlog from the past, but would like to try this one some day.

Continuing with 2020 releases...

I'm sure that many of you want to see nothing but new Koolwheelz designs,
but since reworking the UFO Straker car model,
I've decided there are a few more models I want to update.

Therefore, along with some new ideas this year, I will be re-releasing some updated and reworked older models.
Along those lines, if there are any models you think need updates or modifications, let me know.
So, for the second 2020 "new" release, I'm going to bore you with another updated model.
I promise, the next one after this will be a totally new design!

This is another model that I thought was a bit too narrow, and I considered modifying it.
I also wanted to build another display model, since my only build was a an early test version with a couple of errors.

I also decided I didn't like the model colour.
If I were to own one of these cars, Red might be my choice of paint colour...thats why I originally chose red for the scale model.
But it turned out a bit too dark, and some printed details are hard to see.

Since these cars came in a Tomato Red...or Orange, to be more realistic...I figured it might be a better scale colour.
And so, after a few other modifications to the body, and the artwork, I present the updated Bricklin SV1.

Updated link in the Specialz-Road Carz section will get you to the new model.
