My attempt at a Mean Maverick

I managed to complete my first KoolWheelz of 2020. A little lumpy, but it may be in the ball park at a distance and with a soft lens.

Thanks for the model and for the guidance on the build, Dave.

Great job Don. That's a nice looking Maverick.

Very nice Don.
A very clean build if you ask me.
Lumps? what lumps?

Turn the wheels (all four) 180 degrees and you'll see a difference.
You've got the lighting and shadows upside down.
Also, the rear deck spoilers should be right at the rear edge of the body.
Or are you experimenting with different aerodynamics?

Once again, your little display base looks good!

Thanks, Dave. I knew that the wheels where colored to represent shading, but I was thinking that the shadow would be at the top. I should have checked with you (or looked at some of the AirDave airplane wheels in my collection). At least they are all equally upside down. The model is glued to the base, but it might be possible to break it loose, turn the rear wheels the right way up, and detach and correct the front wheels.

You will recall from the years we have known each other that if there is a wrong way to install a part I will find it.

Nonetheless, it was fun to build.

Don

Nicely done, Don. Perhaps you could reprint the wheel faces (even on regular weight printer paper), and glue them on in the proper orientation.

Don - A much more elegant solution than ripping the wheels off, turning them 180, slathering them with glue, and slapping them back on! Now I am going to finish the automovile moderne that has been 90 per cent complete for about five years. Don too

I really like Don's solution. Funny, I have the Automovile Moderne about 30% done. Not real sure why I didn't finish it. Then again, I am known for non-finished projects.

Very nice model and display, sir
