Thought I'd try a download test - the' No Time To Die ' Aston downloaded right away for me, I use a tablet running Chrome as my browser. So, I don't know what this download 'problem' is.
Sounds a little sus to me, they want you to email the models (?), maybe I'm to paranoid in my old age.

you are correct. I also tend to be highly suspicious of everything these days! LOL

but, in this case, I am giving this guy the benefit of the doubt.
Hes already emailed me privately (and I have responded) so we've passed that bridge.

It sounds more to me like laziness...I'm sorry to say...some folks just don't want to work very hard to get their free models.
But considering the effort hes gone to so far, on facebook, here and email, I don't understand why he hasn't tried more options for downloading.
Like a different computer...

First time I've seen it too VK. So I googled it and had an interesting read through the Wikipedia entry.

All sorts of shenanigans going on there. The bit that really grabbed me was that the founder CEO says he has been pushed out by an April fool post of his resignation and is convinced it has now been taken over by Putin's gang of hackers.

I wasn't brave enough to register for this one so I wasn't able to really explore much, but I get the impression that it's similar to a Flickr page, with all your Koolwheels models on.

I'm proud of the efforts you've put in against the Chinese pirates Dave, but here's wishing you the best of luck with this one.

As I am interested in Russian paper modeling, I have been a member of several communities on VK for years. Have not had any issues.

It is the No 1 site used in Russia.

They have had quite a strong stance against piracy, and even have developed tools to remove pirated material.

Why are there so many ignorant thieving Russians?
And why do they want to give all Russians such a bad name?
A few bad Russians have ruined my opinion of all Russians.
So now I hate them all.
I hope they know that.

These models are completely free for anyone to access, but these Russian thieves want to make money and/or notoriety for distributing other people's work.
Its consistently Russian thieves who pirate my models.
So, they are scum to me.

I laugh...apparently Russian paper modelers can't create their own models, they have to steal everything they build.

I feel your pain Dave, another factor of living in a high technology world. The internet is good, and bad at the same time. People are lazy, why bother designing something when you can simply steal someone else's hard work.
