AirDave's Kool Wheelz Collection

McHale got me started...
but it was an idea I have had for quite some time.
Ever since I designed my mini "Hot Wheels Juice Machine"
I have thought about building some small Hot Wheels Sizzlers.

And then of course I have thought about other Hot Wheels and diecast cars that I loved when I was a kid!

Mike's (mchale) Scooby Doo Van got me started...

and now I have started a list of other favorite "Custom" Cars, Movie and TV vehicles and Hot Wheels diecast, that I want to try in card form!

So the new collection is "AirDave's "HOT" Wheels Collection.
These will be fairly simple, but small, around 1/60 scale, vehicles
that will be shared, for free, through my site.

First three models are up, and the download links are there too.
just click on the model page to get the download link.

The Scooby Van and the new "Shaggy" Van are the first two "HOT" Wheels!

and I just finished work on the Deora.
I always loved this truck!! One of the greatest show vehicles ever!
I saw it way back in 1968!
and it was also the very first Hot Wheels car I owned, back in 1968!!

on the drawing board next?

hmmmmm
first, I'm working on the very first "Hot Wheels Sizzler" I owned!

and I have also got a couple of TV/Movie cars in my mind.

He who dies with the most toys wins!!!!

way Cool. That was my second hot wheels after Hot Heap.

Will you be distributing? They would look great on my desk!

Thanks

Twin Mill

I vote for this.

It was one of the first completely custom hot wheels models (not modeled after a real car), was upscaled to 1:24 in the Legends series, then in 2001, Mattel actually had a fully working real car built. And now 9 years later... the paper model, a'la Dave!

anything that goes into the "HOT" Wheels page will be a free download.

as I said, the Scooby Van, Shaggy Van and Deora are already up,
just click the model pages to get the download PDF.

I am almost ready for a test build of my "Sizzler"...
its got a pretty tricky canopy that I have to simplify.
But hopefully that will be up soon...

and I am looking at a few more favorite Hot Wheels,
a version (or two) of the Batmobile,
the Munsters vehicles,
and who knows what else!

These aren't very complicated models...simple stuff.
The Deora doesn't even have full wheels.
Its more about the look for me...
but I think they will still be fun, one night builds!

nope...sorry...never was a fan of Twin Mill.
I do like the fact that a real car was built, one that could actually go down the strip!
but other than that, it wasn't one of my faves.

I will be doing cars that interest me and cars that I think I can handle (design wise)
a car like Twin Mill has too many compound curves.
And since I design on the flat, it would be a tough project for me.

Owell it was worth a shot - was never one of my favorites either, but it's what came to mind when I thought of "classic hot wheels".

I got the very first Hot Wheels...probably had 8 or more of the "original 16".
Got the very first Track set.
Joined the Hot Wheels club right away and got the exclusive Chrome Boss Hoss.
I also bought the very first Snake and Mongoose set.

But when Sizzlers appeared in '69 or '70, I forgot all about regular Hot Wheels!
These were Hot Wheels that drove around without having to be pushed!!!

Got the very first "Fat Track" and never looked back! lol

And my first Sizzler was the "Livewire".
probably not the best looking Sizzler, although I thought it was pretty awesome.
And it was this pinkish purple colour that was totally cool to me!

so, that will be my first Sizzler project...

I'd like to see Sidekick as a pm. It was my heaviest, therefore fastest car. My first Sizzlers were the Ferrari 330 P4, and the "Angeleno M70".
