TarHeel Hal...will have to look into that one.

Gabby Gabreski...yes, my current P47 tester has already put forth Gabreski (a few times!)...so he is already on my short list.

.........................................

I would love to eliminate the "butt joint" double former idea, but:
there are many builders who are familiar with and very good at the butt joint assembly. (I don't want to eliminate them)
Creating joiner strips is a time consuming process.
Adjusting the instruction diagram is more time consuming.
Creating new instructions with regards to where and how to use the formers is even more work!

I think I might like to create an "add-on" sheet of joiner strips.
(Doing the same for the Mustangs) and leave it up to the builder how they want to approach the model.
Maybe add a new instruction page.
...but I will need time to think about all that.

I know for a fact, with the P47, there is at least one place where "butt joint/double former" is required. I'll explain later.

Hmmmmm.....I am going to have to look through my Squadron Signal P-47 In Action book for some suggestions that have not been mentioned.

YES! look for "jugs on jugs" please! lol
I have seen some great "pin-up" on P-47s, I'd like to try some of those.

But please keep in mind, and this goes out to everyone, when you suggest a plane by sending me a photo or profile artwork, it helps if you can provide some other reference material to get me started.
I need good clear images of noseart and such, but I need more than just one shot of the noseart.
Sometimes I can spend days or weeks hunting for other reference material that just doesn't exist...and I don't want to have to rely on very unreliable "profile" art.

When I do a repaint, I prefer to start with actual, vintage photos of the aircraft, but I also need photos that show more obscure areas of the aircraft.

As I said, I am making an effort to work out some of the already existing kinks in this kit!

Don't worry, I will be detailing all the changes, mods and refits.

On that note, Marek formers are always an issue...we know that...and the P-47 is getting an across the board (fuselage) former upsize.
We have only found a couple of misfitting formers so far, but a 101% increase will allow for the necessary sanding/shaping of the fuselage formers to get the best fit.

Yeah, Gabbys' Jug will for-sure make the build list. It's argueably the most famous and recognized P-47 anywhere.

I second Eight Nifties also!

Oh, and the books I had did not show closeups of the nose art with pin ups....over-all shots yeah, but no closeups.
