On those profiles Andy posted, I'd go for the two with nose art! The one with the blue-lightning-bolt tail is especially striking.
Dave- are you converting Marek's Razorback into a Bubbletop? Wyvern |

I assume the "razorback" is the fast-back style canopy on the earlier versions?
and the "bubble" is the later style canopy? (not including the spine-knife addition to the tail) I have both versions...and from those, I can modify to suit most of the P-47 models.

Airdave, Maybe you would consider the all metal colored P-47
that I designed for Lou Dausse. It is PMI #110. It has nose art on both sides of the fuselage as well as being very colorful. I did the line drawings and Lou had the coloring done by someone else. He did not catch the mistake in the coloring on the tail surfaces which should be red and white stripes. He had already had 5000 copies printed before I got my first copies and noticed that the vertical and horizontal stabilizers were red and silver. This has bothered me and Lou ever since. I think I still have the original nose art if I can find it on the cd that made back then. If not I could send you a kit of the model that you could take the nose art from. Ron |

Ron,
In regards to your PM, I would love to see this kit repainted! I know that since it's a printed kit, it's not possible but still, what a great kit it would be in other schemes.

Andy,
I know it is copyrighted but I don't believe it would be illegal to paint a model with existing color and marking that is available on the internet. I think the model itself is taboo to copy or sell but I don't believe the livery is. Maybe we can get a legal opinion on this. I will try to get some pictures of the one I have built up that I modified by installing white strips on the tail surfaces as they should be. Ron |
