Just waiting for a response from the artist. It's gonna end up being a freebie, so paying models get a little more priority.

I know what a "group build" is...everyone works on the same model
and we share all the final results. But what is a "group design"? I don't get it. Everyone watches while Murphy designs a model? lol In my world, a group design would be everyone involved designs a part of the model. We put them all together at the end and we build the result. I would consider designing a part...but only if everyone pitches in. If we are lucky, it doesn't end up looking like this:

If somebody who can work on Rhino .3dm files wants to take over, I'll send them the file. It needs an internal skeleton to support it, and that's not an area I know anything about. Plus I gotta keep working on paying models so I can keep food on the table.

Group design works best if each person in the design has a speciality, eg basic design, detailing, basic texturing, detailed texturing, renderbaking, post production, building, instructions, etc.....
Anyway, the back end looks like the salyut-mir module dimensions, maybe at a different scale?

Dunno. I never found any images that clearly showed the back end, so I made it the sublight drive...a combination of big rocket engine and ion drives

Actually, after having to "refresh" my laptop yesterday, and reloading Rhino, I can save it as a 3ds file.
I also got this from the artist yesterday: Hello Aaron, A century later he replies... sorry I have been quite busy and had to organize my mail in a dictator like fashion. (Into prio 1 and prio 2.... sorry!) As long as the paper model will be non commercial that is fine! I’m planning on doing orthographic views in the near future. Just don’t pin me down on when, quite some busy times ahead. Thanks and good luck! - Mark I'll pass the model into your capable hands Jon. (Right now I'm working on a 3rd version of the McDonnell Banshee.) |
