Noorduyn Norseman UC-64A

Anyone know if there is a paper model of a Noorduyn Norseman UC-64A like what Glenn Miller was in when the plane went missing during WWII?

I was asking about that over on Dave's site awhile back. As far as I know there are none. There are many interesting civil schemes I'd love to see.

Yeah, saw just the part where they mentioned the aircraft. Channel surfing nets some interesting stuff sometimes.

Murph now has a Norseman available. http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/591219-post558.html

Did we ever figure out what the aircraft Glenn Miller was lost in (44-70285) looked like?

This from Joe Baugher's site (1944 USAAF Serial Numbers (44-70255 to 44-83885)):

Noorduyn Norseman UC-64A 44-70285 (MSN 550) Delivered to USAAF July 5, 1944; Newark, New Jersey July 5, 1944; shipped to the 8th
Air Force, England July 14, 1944; 35th Depot Repair Squadron, Abbots Ripton, Cambridgeshire. Disappeared over the English Channel on December 15, 1944 while en route from Bedford, England to Paris, France. Band leader A. Glenn Miller was lost along with the pilot John Morgan and Lt. Colonel Baessell.

About the only way we're gonna know is to find what other planes assigned to that squadron were painted like. Or find somebody who served there and ask.

maybe reach out the the US Army Aviation Museum in Dothan, Alabama, also home to Fort Rucker, or try the Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, if those fail, try the Smithsonian

I always figured if Don doesn't know, than it may not be knowable.
