Turrets

I love this hobby... (the mounds of paper scraps and glue flakes on my carpet attest to this!)

I've always wanted to do a battleship, but the size is a problem for me. Too small and my fingers won't cooperate, too big you have a display problem. (Where do you display a 40"+ model?)

Does anyone know of a turret or gun section done in, say, 144th scale? It would be big enough to easily work on and wouldn't take a lot of space to display. (win,win!)

I eagerly await the collective reply...

George Price

Digital Navy used to have the Turret from the Arizona with an airctraft catapault on it but it is not there anymore, but luckily, one of our members, Ollie Bizer, here has done a diorama of the HMS hood turret HMS Hood/ Gun Turrets section And I believe it is still here in the downloads section PaperModelers.com - Downloads - Ships and Maritime Hardware

Oh by the way, since this is your first posting, Welcome aboard and make your introduction in the welcome section.

A good start

Ahh... I knew someone here could plum the depths of these forum entries and find what I was talking about.

but...

Only one entry? Certainly with all the modelers in all the world... someone must have considered this before?

Think of the attention to detail you could put into, say, a 72 scale 3" deck gun, or a 20mm anti aircraft station... and the whole thing could easily fit on your shelf...

(hmmm... I really need to learn how this "pepakura" thing works...)

Thanks;

George

BB35 (Texas) isn't in our back yard, but it is near enough. I have a lot of photos.
