BSA Wood Badge Critters
Hi there, Does anyone know where I might be able to find paper models of the following critters; Beaver, Bobwhite, Buffalo, Antelope, & Fox? I can find a Snowy Owl, A Polar Bear, and a Bald Eagle at the Canon Creative park Website. These eight animals represent the patrols in the BSA Wood Badge Training Course, which I'm currently attending. I'm an Owl. I thought it would be nice to find the critters for the other patrols as well, and introduce others to this wonderful hobby. If there are no models of these animals, would any of the talented people on this forum care to design them? I'm sure we can arrange some small (emphasis on small) remuneration, if necessary. The people who attend courses like Wood Badge do great things to help steer our youth in the right direction, and I thought it would be nice to show there are people out there who appreciate what they do.

There are some animals at the Yamaha papercraft site, but unfortunately a quick lookthrough and I don't see any of the animals you are asking for. Perhaps some recoloring possibilities for someobdy with the skill? (They focus on rare / endangered animals).

If you go to my "Hi New Girl Here" post I first make, people recommend some sites wtih birds and animals. I see a Bison or Buffalo on one site. I had thought about that and using dyed cotton for the wool? I think also I see an elk or large deer but I forget now. I can look also... I could make joke about paper Beaver. Even from Ukraine it is joke I know. You don't want to get papercut from paper Beaver.

Hehe. I like your sense of humor. I looked for some animals as well but couldn't find any other than what's been suggested. Good luck!

Here is a site with a Simple Buffalo model near the middle of the page. Two one page pdf's, parts and minimal contstruction diagram. I have not put one together so cannot comment on ease and accuarcy.

Thanks much! I saw a Bison, Fox, Oryx, & Okapi. The last 2 are Antelope-ish aren't they? Nothing says it has to be a pronghorn. Now I just need the Bobwhite and Beaver (no jokes here, please). I can possibly do a beaver from the raccoon body, capybara head and a home made tail. The Bobwhite will have to be one of the other birds repainted. Good thing I'm a Cub Scout leader. Our motto is "Do Your Best!" not "Get 'er done."
