I set my sights there and then ... until I owned a real one of these, I just hadn't made it to where I wanna be !

Guess what ... I ain't made it yet.

But I sure as hell would love a model of one.

The Plastic kit still comes up on ebay occasionally ... but at really silly prices.

Shoot ... there's one on ebay for £34 ... I'm tempted, but I think not.
The top one I would go for .The bottom one is a violation of everything boat sacred .The boat pictured is no more a Sport Fisherman than I am Secretary of the Navy . That Model was originally released in the fifties as a Chris Craft Cabin Cruiser . It is properly known as Chris Craft Tri - Cabin .
The lower windows aft were the owners cabin and head area .Guest cabins and head were forward and the big cabin was the galley and Salon ( living Room to you lubbers reading this ).

Perhaps one could design a paper model using the old magazine plans from this site:

www.svensons.com - Free Boat Plans From "Science and Mechanics" Magazines

A couple of the cabin cruisers, inboard runabouts and hydroplanes look fairly "classic"...

The model I made and fell in love with was indeed called a "Chris Craft Cruiser" not a "Sport Fishing Boat", but I didn't find a picture of the earlier model.

That sailing model is a good example . I only owned one and it was a 1932 " Friendship Sloop " built in New England . I salvaged it and refitted it and sailed it single-handed for over two years .Sweetest " Rag Boat " I ever had ! I kinda am stuck on power-boats though .

Just to key you in on something .The Bayou Bell was so popular that a company in Louisiana started building one along the lines of the bigger one .It came in two sizes 28' and 40' and it was an all steel boat called a " RIVER QUEEN " It was a well rated sea-going boat too .
