Spaceship design of the 50ties

This is an odd request, I know. Still, I would like to see some of the spacraft concepts of the early "space age". I'm speeking of the Wehrner Von Braun concept published on Colliers and painted by Bonestell. There are a few available as plastic kits but a 1:96 in paper... That's the thing! Oh yes, I have tried it and fall as a stone. I have to admidt my shortcomings and trow the glove of challenge to people that master the art of papercraft...

Please have a look at the special page 'Early SF' on my site - Zeist Bouwplaten - Import, verkoop, ontwerp en productie van papieren schaalmodellen, maquettes en bouwplaten (cardmodels), Modelbouw, Rietveld cutoutmodels. If you mail or pm me, I may be able to help with availability of some of the models there.

The Lower Hudson Valley E-Gift Shop has a model of the Ferry Rocket 3rd stage although it is misidentified as a Mars rocket.

I believe we discussed that design a number of years ago but nothing came of it. Would love to see it designed in paper. I have that plastic model and I may still have the box and instructions if anyone needs it. Also still hoping for ScottK to release the rest of his Mars ship

I've picked up the Glencoe re-release of the large booster and the spacestation which are quite nice and affordable if you can find at your LHS. The Lindberg moon lander also approximates the Von Braun orbiter quite closely, but that is plastic. Paper, though, I know Delta 7 studios had a paper version of the Collier shuttle as part of the "Retro Rockets" package.

For those available to tackle it, some nice references off Project Rho's page documenting a 50s space age poster.

(actually the whole website is flushed full of neat projects )

Not related to the post but I'm curious - could you translate the sentence in your signature? Google made a mess of it when I tried. Thanks!

I frequently visit this site, odd that I haven't noticed it before, it must have be there for quite a time. The 1:48 "Greelt" Saturn V is one of his kind (and soon or later I'll build it!).
