I'm right there with you.

Got me wondering how hard it is to learn a CAD prog to transfer plans into paper in the way maestro mrafalsk has demonstrated on several occasions.

Diorama waiting to happen - a modified Octopus + Crusader.
(Maybe that should be a Decepus?)

Like that Octopus.

Have thought about trying to learn some type of 3d program, but just haven't been ambitious enough with having so many other things to do without it. I'm still over 2 years behind on editing photos from shows and museum visit to post on my Smug Mug site. Plus do have a 'few' models started to finish, along with a 6 inch stack of paper models and at least 3 or 4 hundred plastic models not touched yet.

Just found one of the photos I had saved of the MM1-Terracruzer after it was converted to a dump truck. Since this was in the Netherlands will figure it was probably a DAF dump body and the Hall-Scott engine was replaced usually with a DAF diesel. Little bit post WW2 but still really cool to me.

That MM1 is a unique beast. When I first saw that design I wondered how tough it would be to fix a tire! Seems strange that the idea doesn't seem to have caught on. Unless it's becos no-one wanted to be changing the tires.

I know exactly what you mean about time/wants/needs. I also have been thinking about the difficulty of CAD, it's not like I have any spare time, but it's cool to think about these vehicles becoming models.

Now that's one I'd like in 1/25th. Happy to see this thread staying alive to maybe put a idea in some designer's head.
Everybody: breathe deep, OM, focus images of someone designing 1/25 WW2 trucks. Worth a try.
