The one in the museum here was flown on its wheels after resto BUT was put back on floats on its trolly.
Next time I'm out there ill get some pics of it on its trolly and of its land based gear if possible. |

I would appreciate seeing other pics of the aircraft. I never noticed that the gear could be changed, but it wasn't in the checklist, so I wasn't looking. I was only thinking about take-offs and (shudder) landings. |

Hey missileer heres a pic of the same N3N I posted on her floats. if you notice her land gear is in the corner behind the JAG. ill get close-ups when I can.

Heavens! While it might not be quite accurate, I might be able to model something similar in pla*tic using a Lindberg Stearman and the floats from an old Monogram Kingfisher. I might even attempt to convert the stabilizers. In paper, reducing the PT-17 down to the Digital Navy scale, floats from the Kingfisher on a gun turret might even work.
