Why ask small when you can ask for the impossible ?
Hi All
Firstly, to set the ball rolling, how about the Caproni CA 60. More wings than a Macdonalds bargain bucket. More props than a Hollywood film set. Beautiful to my eyes, hideous to some. Go for it chaps ! Secondly, the 1911 Vedovelli, "le Fantome". This aircraft has been whipped by the ugly stick so many times that it's come full circle and looks...... actually, it still looks like a dogs dinner but I love it. Thirdly and finally, the Johns multiplane. Seven wingts, three engines, one idiot. Truly a work of art. Love, Liz Sorry to spoil your sleep !

The Caprioni sounds great. Just for the challenge of building something extremely complex. I've seen some scratch built models of it. Interesting aircraft.

I keep getting requests for the Caproni, but it's such a tangle of wings, struts, and wires that I can't sort it out enough to get started. Only recently did I realize that the houseboat I thought it was launched from was actually part of the plane...

I don't want to seem plane-ist, but that Vedovelli is so ugly it's offensive. Maybe some planes should be left in the past...

Did they fly? I'll have to go Google them; thinking about the drag from all those struts and required rigging has me thinking it is like trying to fly a clipper ship with full sail -against a headwind.

Did they h***
The Johns multiplane apparentley made a few short "hop" flights before digging in a wing and being abandoned.
The vedovelli if I remember rightly was described thusly:- "The mastodon rumbled slowly across the field before collapsing" .Perfect ! The Ca 60 was more difficult to sort out. Some sources say it made one short flight above lake maggiore before the ballast shifted and it hit the water. What if the ballast had been better secured ? Models have flown well as can be seen on youtube so who knows. Liz

Oh Rats!
Sorry, in my original post I said "more wings than a Mcdonalds bargain bucket".
Foolish girl, I meant colonel saunders. Makes a bit more sense now. I have no idea at all how to edit my post. Liz

We have a 1 hour time limit on editing of posts.
so, seeing it now the 6th of June, that 1 hour limit has long since passed. But I think most of us got what you meant originally
