Anyone want a Corgi one? I've seen them offered at £40 or more, but this one is at £7.50 ... with a couple of days to go.
Access Denied ??? The link does work.

Actually, speaking of Lonnie Donegan, I used to collect 78rpm records. At one time I had over a thousand. Now I've taken a lot of drugs and drunk far too much alcohol over the last 64 years so my memory isn't as good as it could be, bit I seem to recall a record with his "Ham'n'eggs" on one side and his "Pork'n'beans" on the flip.
Am I correct or has my deep fried mind let me down again? Liz

According to the list of singles on Wikipedia, Ham'n eggs was the b side of Jack of Diamonds. Weezer did a song called Pork and Beans that was pretty cool. Actually any Weezer song is pretty cool.

Gonna meet on the side o' the road. Tucked away somewhere I have actually got this record. Yep,it's a 78, but it's actually made of Vinyl like a 45. Dunno if they sold many like that, but this is the only vinyl 78 that ever reached my collection. Loooooong time ago, when the Army first sent me overseas (Aden), it seemed like a good idea to record all my 78s onto cassette tape to travel with me. Well needless to say, those cassette tapes didn't last out long, but what did I do with the 78s? (Sob) I threw them in the dustbin. Jack o' Diamonds survived 'cos of the novelty of it being vinyl.

John ...a Beatles-Minions car might be a good idea.
If I don't come up with anyting else. Sprogs...Tour Bus? what Tour Bus? I don't see no Tour Bus. Lonnie Donegan...how awesome. Once again, the American influence in the 50s was so intense, wasn't it?

Now now Dave. Much as he tried to sound like one Lonnie was not American. 90% of his music was though.
From Wikipedia ...Lonnie Donegan was born Anthony James Donegan in Bridgeton, Glasgow, Scotland, on 29 April 1931. He was the son of an Irish mother and a Scots father, a professional violinist who had played with the Scottish National Orchestra. In 1933, he moved with his family to East Ham in East London.[4] Donegan was evacuated to Cheshire to escape the Blitz in the Second World War and attended college in Altrincham. 1 day and 3 hrs to go, but that Corgi bus is still only at £7.50. No-one tempted? Honest, they're advertised elsewhere at £30 to £40. I just bid a tenner, but it jumped past me to £10.50. Think I'll just wait fer Dave's one. I was only interested in the Corgi one in order to make a buck or two reselling it.

I am well aware that Donegan was Scottish.
I was just referring to the level of American influence on all the great British musicians of that period. (especially black American Blues and Jazz) I think its a cool thing. It continued into the 60s with the Beatles and the Stones and so many other bands. Its amazing how much "British" music was really American inspired. British musicians seem to have embraced black roots music more than America did.
