Wanted: Schwerer Gustav
Considering the number of railgun kits that are available, it would be nice to have one of the ultimate....the Schwerer Gustav (Dora). A real monster, requiring two sets of tracks to run on, and a crew of over 3000 to assemble it once the individual pieces arrived at the intended firing location.

There's also a 1/35 Dora gun by Soar Art - this model is more of a lifestyle choice than a hobby. I've seen one built and it is enormous.

There's also a 1/144 model of Schwerer Dora by Fujimi.
The 1/72 model claims it is 1.11m long on the box that is a big model. Regards, Charlie |

The Enigma of Small Dwellings...,
The refrain "And just where are you going to put that?" will find its way into every physical nook and cranny of your abode. No escaping cohabitation with something this size. One of the better replies (but still lame) is "we're going to display it over in Fred's shed" or something to that extent that will remove it from the premises "After" you've built it. After is the keyword psychology of this game because that's when it will really sink in that she's absolutely and exactly right...,

I have the 1/35 Dora and it is not so difficult to display as it is more high and long but not very wide so fits on a normal shelf...

Ummm? If y'all take a peek in our downloads section ... under Trains and railways ... you'll find ju52man's Mini Dora. Only 3 pages and a page and a half of that are just pictures. Definitely more to my mini display liking. I've just downloaded it and will start snippin' it tomorrow ... as an also run with a very slow build, one tab at a time, figurine that I've been plodding away at for nearly a week now ... and I'm not half way through the trial run yet.

GPM have a 1/25 K-5E Leopold WW2 railway gun - it's a fairly elderly model.
There's a WW1 1/35 381mm Italian railway gun on Landships II (free) The Schwerer Dora/Gustav large scale models only exist in the plastic world. Charlie |
