Peruvian Flower Request

Can a fellow papercrafter do me a favor and design a simple flower for me? I am planning to give it to a special someone but I lack the skills and knowledge on designing models. It's called a Peruvian Flower and that species of flower is endangered on its native country (Peru) due to illegal selling, my special someone loved the flower because it represents her native country too well, so that flower became very special to her. She especially liked the flower with the violet (Magenta? Who knows) colored flower (See the picture attached) so it would be very nice if someone could design this flower for me with this specific color scheme? If there is someone who is willing to do so, I will be filled with never-ending gratitude to you

That's an unusual request of a beautiful flower.

We don't see many flowers or botanical models around. And even less designers devoted to those subjects.

Have you tried contacting Diana Beltran Herrera? Home - Diana Beltran Herrera

She's a renown paper artist, famous for her amazing and accurate reproductions of birds, flowers, and other subjects.
Her paper works are just perfect.

I'm sure if there's someone in the world able to build the flower you're looking for, it's definitely her.

However I don't think she may do a commission work for free.

I thought that Sasatoku on the old site had more intricate flowers, but during the year that flowers were issued each month, the old intricate flowers are gone,

Pepachal has a lily that maybe you could repaint, https://web.archive.org/web/20120125...k-pot/yuri.htm

Canon has a lily that is close to the Peruvian flower you are searching for

Making paper flower arrangements is popular in Japan and to a somewhat lesser extent in Korea and Taiwan
If you search for "paperkraft lily"
or paper model flowers
or paper model flower instructions
you might find a paper flower close to what you are looking for, or a you tube video that shows how to make paper flowers from scratch.

Use this for a search to find more paper flower techniques

Good Luck, I hope you find what you are looking for.

Nice thought Nony, I can think of a few directions to send paper flowers too, but there's not so many around.

I've particularly been keeping an eye open for something not too complicated but realistic enough to attach Johan's humming bird to fo display. I'm very reluctant to use plastic or felt. I'd much rather keep to paper throughout.

That Pepachal Lily VK mentioned just might be a suitable candidate. Dang it ... ... now I've committed to building her the humming birds. Can I succeed in building that small I wonder?

V_K, sorry for the very late answer, but try clicking the highlighted link. You'll find every single previous model:

Not all. Before they started doing the monthly models, they had some very intricate flowers. Those went away when they started doing the monthly models

The flowers are still available!
Go to the Sasatoku papercraft web page (link here)http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/607293-post244.html
go to the bottom of the Sasatoku page and click on
and the paper flowers will appear.

Sorry, newbie mistake... Guess I hadn't visited their site before the calendars began (the sea creatures year).

John, that's the toggling counterpart of the link I annexed. You'll only see this text after you link the first one, because it hides the earlier models.
