True, you didn't specify that there was a Metropolitan there Dave, but you slightly missed the point of Sprogs original request ... Like me she is British (Yes I know you are/were too), and the chances are the little Metropolitan is/was the only Nash she ever contacted with, and even then I'm willing to bet it had an Austin badge on it. Although they were only meant for the stateside market, so many of the little blighters were sent back here that, unloved or not, back in the '50/60s they were not considered rare.

I traded in a '58 Chevrolet Impala for the Cresta and the dealer threw in the two year old Metropolitan and a Sunbeam S7 motorbike to make up the difference. So I did keep and run it for a while. Back then the '58 style Chevy was not popular or collectable over here. In fact they were pretty unpopular ... until American Graffiti was released. 54/55 Bel Airs were the 'IN' Yank Tank of the day.

I don't know if anyone has a copy, but a "Head" comic in America, Mr Natural had on the back cover a cut out and fold V.simple model of one driven by Mr Natural with his pal Flaky Foont as passenger.
I'm sure I once had a copy, but the term "Head Comic" may go some way to explaining why I can't find it/myself.

There's a real Metropolitan advertised in this weeks 'Classic Car Weekly'.

Well tidy RHD '57 coupe ... only £11,000 ono. Still unloved, but I guess they are getting rare now.

Methinks I'll stick with the old Range Rover a bit longer, but unbelievably, I'd be willing to swap it for a good Triumph Herald/Vitesse Estate. Not many around lately though.
