BlackBeard's Ship the Queen Annes Revenge
Has anyone ever seen a paper model of BlackBeard's Pirate Ship the Queen Anne's Revenge? We have retired and moved to the beach. I'm working on models and stuff to decorate the new house. I've found a plastic model of BlackBeard and thought his ship would be a nice addition.

I think this is meant to represent the Queen Anne's Revenge as Disney portrayed her in POTC "On stranger tides". More of a toy than a serious model of the real Blackbeard's ship, but it may suffice your needs. The above reference is to Amazon UK, but once you've got it on browser, just change the .co.uk bit to .com and it should show you the same thing on Amazon USA ... if they've got any.

Thanks Johnny I'll check it out. I've found a lot of pirate ship paper models but none of Queen Anne's Revenge.

If you feed "Queen Anne's Revenge" into a Google Images search there's plenty of them, but there's also wide differing opinions on what she actually looked like. The black sails are unlikely though. I think they are probably a Disney invention for POTC.

Well, one thing I do for some designers is patrol some of the pirate sites and let the designers know when and where their designs are posted. I've seen a couple Queen Anne's Revenge paper models, but they don't look much alike. One looks more like a painting that I've seen, but who knows if the painting is a good representation.
They are trying to raise a sunken ship which probably might possibly could be the ship, and they are hoping to be able to know more about its construction. In my reading, no one has plans on the boat as it was constructed, originally a slave hauler. I'm not sure you will be able to find an accurate model. I wish more of the ship guys would add info or confirm the lack of info

If you build a reasonable facsimile who is ever going to dispute your version?

I think if I were doing it, I'd just base it off the painting...

Fascinations - Metal Earth 3D Metal Model DIY Kits - Unique Gifts for Birthday, Holidays and Special Occasions:: Metal Earth IconX Queen Anne Revenge
Metal Earth has their model. It's not paper but metal sheets that you shape like paper models. With little bitty parts. I have this one and it's not terribly difficult. The parts have tabs and slots. You will need flush cutters and needle nose pliers, or at least I did. Dave |

Dan Pariser scratch built a model of the ship after doing some extensive research. The project is posted on the NRG website. Of course it's made from wood but it might give you some ideas about maybe kit bashing another paper model from the same period. Maybe a Shipyard model kit could be used.
