Yes, don't be afraid to collaborate with "like-minded" creative persons. Paper model (card) is just starting a new age. When the time is right, get a copyright. The effort will stand you well.

how about a cold war version with nukes and ballistic missiles with different mechanics and different pieces and a different board. instead of dice you could have cards that say hit or miss and use those cards for each token

There are actually a fair number of cold war games already on the market. But, I don't know of any that would be about up to date, modern warfare on a global scale like Axis and Allies. That could work.

here is a pic of a Cold-War-Gone-Hot game of mine. It was downloadable off the publishers website.

It's from High Flying Dice Games. SAC---All out Thermo-nuclear War against the Soviet Union: 1962

The game is very basic and can be played in probably 10-20 mins at most. I was thinking of adding more detail to it myself to give it a more realistic feel (the Russian interceptors, for instance, all function the same even though they represent different kinds of aircraft. Assigning different ratings to them could make things more interesting.)

Interesting side note: The designer/publisher of that game also designed a game about air-racing planes in the 1930s, and when he was play-testing the game, he built and used Fiddlers Green Racers for it!
