Exclamation

A land Rover should be super easy to design. All 2D surfaces

In some ancient royal circles you got berried with the entire funeral procession ( including the horses and cart that carried the body ).

I suppose this Rover will be in some museum.

Hopefully yes - there are a number of Landrover models already available, mostly in the smaller scales. I actually think Prince Philip would have been chuffed at a model - it would certainly have appealed to his sense of whimsey.

A mod also should not be too difficult.

I have no issues personally with a model of this type - funeral vehicles have often been modelled.

One of the most famous is Nelson's Funeral Barge (complete with coffin Dave, yes) - you can admire a very fine model at the Maritime Museum, Greenwich. There used to be some fine wooden kits available too.

True story, I got to dance with Prince Phillip in Singapore in 1955. WELL technically i did. He was dancing with my mother at HMS TERROR and she was pregnant with me the time.Knowing his sense of humour im guessing this was actually the way he chose to arrive at funeral .Met him many times in his role as Captain General of the royal marines that my father served in for 28 years.

Dear Friends:
What a font of informantion this forum is. I have not gone looking for the land rovers on Volkers Street paper site to see if any match the exact model that the Prince had. AireDave has made realy good cat coffins in the past. The color is not the standard US OD green, liked it better . Oh and could the flag be done so that one could print it on 10 pound onion skin paper and fold it around the coffin in the back?
Thanks,
Miles

An old friend who served in the PPCLI and was once the Oldest Major in NATO told me that during a tour of Canada in the 1960s, the Duke of Edinburgh and his party had lunch at a diner. After the meal, as the Duke was putting his silverware on his plate, the waitress leaned over his shoulder, put her thumb on his fork and said, "Save your fork, Prince. There's pie."
