V 2.0 released

Last year on November I released a simple model of a Fokker Dr.1. After 6 months I decided to revise that kit, and here I release the second version of it.

There are several reasons why I revisited the kit. One, and most important, there were a couple of flaws on the assembly of some parts. They have been corrected. I re-draw some of the parts to make them fit better, and some other to make them even easier.

The other reason to revise this kit is that I was not happy with the textures. There weren’t any. So... textures have been included. It adds lots of life to the model.

The final (but not less important) reason to re-release this kit today is that I’m working on a template for future digital kits. As you know, the Trimotor is on the way, and some layout elements of that kit have been implemented/tested here in this Fokker. Also, the future release of the B-17 will also need a good presentation of the pages. So, I just created a completely new layout, and this Dr.1 is the perfect excuse to test it, as well as test the legibility, usefulness, and to see if it is user friendly.

The Fokker is still over simplified, and still has 16 parts. But I hope at least the kit’s layout is something interesting to look at. Hopefully it will be the template to be used in future projects.

Following you will see the differences of the old version of the kit, and the new re-color.

Hi Rubén,

I think you have made a great new updated 2.0 version of your model, with the enhanced 3-D graphics. Very true to Manfred von Richthoven's original Nr. 425/17 plane.

I have decided to build a slightly enlarged version of it with some extra detailing. I hope you will like it as I go along - you can check out the first steps here:

All the best,
Bengt in Stockholm
