This is the first time I ever design a paper model, and I'm liking it!!! :D I will surely make some more things in the future. Don't know what, but I will! Quote:
It sounds like a nice add-on and a great way to add strenght to a model when they go on those special missions :D

Great little model!
But I have done a lot of workshops with kids 7 to 12 years old and your Fokker is too complex for a first model in my opinion... Be warned: once you start designing your models, you'll be trapped forever Saludos desde Espańa, Mauri

Very nice!
Ruben, thank you for sharing your design process with everyone. Good point about the need for interation during the design - nothing is perfect the first time!
Regarding simplicity/complexity - I believe you have struck a good balance for a 'beginner' model. Whether *all* 8-year olds could meet it's challenge could be discussed, however, I certainly think any 10-year old (of normal development) would have the needed dexterity. I have run many 'make & take' plastic modeling events, and have found children do not fit any standard 'mold', at least not simply based on their age. All are individuals and the only rule is that they follow their own pace and path. What is important to remember is that a challenge never hurt anyone who at least makes the attempt. Good lessons are everywhere, just as there are *bad* ones! By including a picture of the finished model, you have included the inspiration as well as the means. Good job! Pulping joy to all!

First attempts
Fabulous !
I remember my first designs, if fact i`ve kept all the freehand drawings and photocopies. I would make the models that were left out of certain series and send them to publishers, to see them slightly modified and rereleased by these publishers...who`s going to believe a teenager over an established company ? ...i digress It`s so much more satisfying to research and build a model from scratch Thanks for your reminder Batesyboy |

I allways liked these little Fokkers. Would it be
possible to get a copy of your plans before the color. I think I would lile to build this plane all white. All the best Chats |

I had to format the hard drive a couple of weeks ago, and lost many personal files. The only thing I have of it is the final PDF :( .

Terrible luck Ruben! At least you have the final PDF, so it could have been even worst!
Happy New Year!

I wasn't careful with this as I used to be with other things. At least the final product is preserved, but I should have been a bit more cautious and make back up files or have burned more frequently. But this lesson has been learned: In the new project I'm making, I email to myself the files each time I advance in the project to be sure nothing will get lost in case of another accident. For bigger files that cannot be sent through mail I'm burning right when they're done, or using on-line file storage services. Hopefully a thing like this will not happen again.
