I have not heard anything from David since his last post here. His graphic arts site has been suspended and his last post on his blog was in mid August. I hope he is doing well and just distracted by business and the pace of life with 5 children.

Hello everyone!

Let me begin with an apology to those of you who had been following this thread.
My life's metaphorical little ship had hit wild and rough waters. And I had to set everything aside to focus on just surviving the storms. I'm sure most of you have gone through something similar at some point in your lives.
I'm sorry for the neglect.

There.. whining done.

Now, for the model itself..
1) The Kolywopter parts sheets. Are done.
2) The Kolywopter instructions.. I realize now, that I went totally nutso overboard on them. I will never do such detailed instructions again. They took me 6 times the effort and time than it took me to design and build the original model. pffffffft..

So were is the project now?

You can see the included photo. The tragic result of a desperate move across from one end of the U.S. to the other end. This is all that remains. I dont even KNOW what happened to the engine, the prop, the pilots door, the wings and the other main wheel.

No matter.

I'm going to start again on the orange (R76) this weekend.

THE GOALS:
1) Finish a complete test build by end of September.
2) Load the parts sheets and instructions onto this forum's download page, (if allowed), on or by Saturday, September 30th.

It has been quite some time. I don't check in here very often having moved onto other things. But, your thread is on my email list! I am so glad to learn of your return. Looking forward to your completion of the Kolywopter. I am now a 3D designer and have often thought your project to be ideal for a larger audience. Looking forward to the completion of your project!

Glad to see so many people are still here. Loved the design of the Kolywopter. Will be watching with bated breath. Slowed down a bit myself in the last few years.

Thank you guys for your support. I've been going through the artwork files. Everything was designed in Sketchup when it was free to use. Then the parts were flattened out, and imported into Adobe Illustrator to be sized, detailed, and colored. All of the parts sheets are completed. The instructions are MOSTLY finished. (I still need to set up the main wing asembly. instruction page.) Then I'll be done with the instructions.

Good HEAVENS! the cost of laser printing has skyrocketed in recent years!
