Smile Colt 1911

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I've decided to post something I've been working on in my spare time over the past few months. A colt 1911.
I'm a big fan of simple paper-craft, I think a lot of people tend to overcomplicate things. When I set out to make this I wanted it to have some functionality, the slide works and the mag can be removed, I've even managed to make a spring out of modelling wire that will push the slide forward. I might make another revision where the hammer and safety works, but for now I'm vectorising the templates and adding details in Illustrator.

Below are some images of my rough 1911 without a texture.

You can see a round when the magazine is in and the slide is back.

Slide back.

Slide forward.

Illustrator shot of the textured templates.

Please note that this may take some time to get completed, seeing as I'm pretty busy lately. Thanks in advance for any comments / criticism.

Very nice the profile looks correct. Will you be adding the slide stop and safety notch to the left hand side of the slide.

If you guys have seen this model evole like I, you would be in awe. First it was pretty bad (no offence smilie, was one of your first models) and then he updated it. Had some warpedge problems. Then he revised that was decent but not all perfect with building. Then he made the version seen in the pics that has no texture. Lastly, he started and nearly finished vectorizing it. pretty amazing when read. But you would have a papergasm if you saw it from beginning to now. My hat tips to you smilie. Kudos.
