IJN Yamashiro (redesigned) [AH 1992/JP 2010]

Hello,

I'm a great fan of IJN ships. I have most scans or originals of IJN models ever released. There are many versions of Fuso or Yamato in various forums but when I type an older kits there is no threads. That's why I decided to redesign an older kits to make them look more modern.

IJN Yamashiro was my first redesigned ship. It took me half of a year of hard work to do it. 100% of textures were changed almost 40% of parts was totally redesigned (I decided not to change basic parts like hull or towers because I didn't want to loose the style of the older design).

Moreover, because I'm not a designer I was forced to use the designs from other kits.

Here I must also inform that I did it only for myself and I don't want any profit from it.

The photos present an older version of parts (on the left) and my redesigned parts (on the right). Unfortunately, the quality had to be reduced to 180-260Kb. Average size of the original is 6-8Mb for one photo. Not all of photos are posted.

Kubeksus,
Great work recoloring this old lady. Your love for the Japanese ships really shows in the attention to detail.
If I might suggest something, please add big "SAMPLE" text accross the sheets to safeguard both original model and your recolor against accusation of piracy. I know that you wrote that model is incomplete and the size of those files makes them unusable, but just for the peace of mind.

BTW - Kirishima (my favorite Japanese battleship) was published by GPM (No.44)

Unfortunately, I cannot do that because I still cannot edit my posts so deleting or changing any texts or pictures is impossible for me. I have sent a message to the moderator of the forum but for now I don't have the answer from him.

One more question - original kit was 1:300 scale and you indicated yours as 1:200 scale, yet decks and formers are exactly the same size?

Yeah, It looks like that because I noticed that when a model is 1:300 and it is printed on the A4 paper (that is in the case of the original) or I should do to rescale it to 1:200 is to print it on A3 paper. For example, I printed the planes and compared them with the planes from the other kit (which is 1:200) and the size was the same.

However, it works only when the original is in 1:300 and printed on A4 paper. Print it on A3 and you have 1:200

For different parameters I use a special program for rescaling.

Thanks.
I really hope to see both of those kits being built.
