SAAF T-6 "Harvard"

Hi everyone!

Finally finished my SAAF Texan T-6 "Harvard" last week.... I also attached some pics.

The build was lekker, but I did make a few mistakes though, bu come on, we were all new to building these at some stage .

Apologies for the awesomely beautiful background, I'll refer to the strange cutting plate as my "workshop"

I also did a 1:150 scale test, worked out quite well. Unfortunately I ran out of color ink, so I had to do it in black and white. Only piece I changed was the cowling, as the gluing part went really bad, and I forgot on which size I printed is, so I just took a plane tube form and stuck in on there.

I also neglected to add a prop (oops), but with the colorful one's I definitely add some.

ThunderChild, this one is for you!

Adios fellow artists...

Oh WOW! You did a great job! This your first design?!?

Thanks for sharing the pics. Ive always had a soft spot for the Harvard, I really miss the sound of those Pratt&Whitney's in the skies.

Hi Thunderchild,

I did not do the design of the plane myself, the plans I got seems to be ones from Fiddlers Green.

I did start my own design, doing a 1:30 scale, but have not yet completed it.

Thanks for the comments!

Looks good!

If I may ask, why 1:30 scale?

I think it's just that it's a lesser used scale than say 1:72 or 1:48...

Hi there Dawg!

Pretty good job. What you've done with this version of the T-6 (SAAF Harvard) was very well done...

I for one think designing a model isn't as easy as a person would think, and I would love to see your own 1:30 design when finished.

Keep it up!
