Yes chad, I buit it in 3d with Rhino. It is the 2d drawings that I imported into Rhino that I am talking about and that is what I thought you are asking for. I don't have any 2d drawings of 707R that I did, all are downloaded. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Pic 1~2. On the v-01 there are spacers between each deck bulkheads, on this v-02 the spacers are eliminated. I also double the layers on the center spruce from 2 to 4 layers, same thickness as bulkheads.

pic 3~6. Something not right. The deck frame didn't line up with every bulkheads locations on the hull. I think with how every sections of the hull cut and glued together extended the over all length of the hull ever so slightly. But, I really only need couple of the first bulkheads to be in place so I didn't worry much about the rear didn't line up.

Pic 7~8. Jr. pods done.

Pic 9~11. Deck skin all done with Jr. pods on. Think I did a better job jointing the Jr. pods to the deck on the v-01 then I did here in v-02.

Pic12. Dry fitting looking good. Just as I hope, the misalignment of the deck bulkheads to the hull at the rear didn't give me any problem at all.

Usually you start ships/subs from the center, that way you can fit the ends into place, if there happens to be an accrued error, which is quite the norm in these kind of ventures.

Allen
I'm not a submarine modeler and I like Anime a lot but I've never seen nothing about Submarine 707r.
Now your thread is tempting me to try to build the submarine and see the anime!!!
I'm trying myself to design ( but at snail speed) some models and I found very interesting some of your solutions, like the formers. Very, very interesting.
Regards and please continue with your great work.
Alcides

Thanks Alcides. I tried to approach that formers thing at a different angle, and hopefully make thing better, make it easier, faster to build and stronger. "Try". :D

Have to agree with Zath there...It might be better to place the bulkheads first than apply the deck and deck sides working as he sad from the center out. It looks like you still would have had more than enough deck even in that case. Looks good none the less! As far as early conversations go concerning distribution of this model if that is your intenet and i hope it is. It is a wonderfull looking model, i hope you do distribute and as far as im concerned, i would pay for your talents in this regard!!!!!!!

Goodduck

I always enjoy design threads because it highlights different approaches that designers use to get to the same end, or to solve a partricular problem. This and the Savoia thread have been enlightening. Thanks.

Ok, the deck is on for good. fitting is much better, thanks GOD! Again, the glue dried a little too fast to move around, but at least this time it is not as bad as the v-01. Over all, the glue job is not as good as I would like, but good enough that I am happy. Glue dried already, what else can I do? Live with what I got, I guess. :D

It is because I have read so much about your professional work that I can understand why you are so hard on yourself. For us mere mortals, the sub is freakkin' beautiful!!
