Though I know very little (almost nothing) about submarines, your design and build is something very nice to see.

Your efforts to get it right, and your pursuit for a perfect look is something inspiring.

Thank you very much, everyone. I do try to do better each build.

The bottom hull done, The deck next, will be fun.

This looks like a template paper model. Is it? If so where did you get it? I would love to buy one. If not it is very impressive that you built this like this. Looks so professional. I look forward to seeing how the top works out. It tells me you could easily build this in to an RC model using the same techniques I used to build my 707 UX-1. I am building the 707Junoir in 3d I will post it soon so you can see it. Although I haven't actually set one up yet for the 707 project I am working on. Anyway. Good work man. Very good work.

3d 707

Well if you do ever decide to sell a print let me know please. I would pay 10 or 15 for something as unique and accurate as you are accomplishing here. Plus it would help in my 3d construction, which I am using to make an actual replica of the UX 707 and juniors for RC use as you already know.

But seriously this is genius! I am a web graphic designer and I do a lot with Photoshop so seeing this built in PS is amazing. There is a lot of geometry here. And very accurate. My only suggestion is that your conning tower is too short. Should be 1/3 taller at least if you are going for similarity to the 3D movie version of the 707. Everything else look great!

Oh and my boats will be for sale if you are interested. Although it will be at least 1 yr before they are available. I think the Junior will be the most likely to be done soon. It will be 12" long and ready for RC use or display. I would like to sell for around $200, but it depends on how much it costs to get it printed in 3D by Shapeways.com. IF you do 3D work you should look in to this company. They can take a 3D model and print it in to a physical full shape out of all kinds of materials. I am doing white plastic as it is the cheapest and strongest of most materials.
