Work is right! It takes several attempts to get things right on this one. The model from 3 amigos was a work in progress. I had to do a major redesign of the tail engine and wing spar. Having no instructions is another handicap. Looks like I will have to adjust the engine pylons, too. But it is slowly coming together.

These are just the test builds to get the markings to line up.

Some update on my model. Sorry for the bad photos, most of the work was done late at night in a dimly lit hotel room. I used butt joints and joining strips for the fuselage and engines. I added some photo details to the turbine blades disc, and modified the exhaust cone on the engines.

Here is a before and after photos of the engine parts sheet. Other than recoloring, I moved the exhaust cone deeper into the engine to provide more depth. That meant that I had to make the exhaust cone longer and thinner. I copied a photo of the turbine section off the internet and pasted it on the front disk. Since the photo had a different spinner, I did not use the original spinner.

I completely redesigned the wing spar and center sections. The box spar center section from the original design was too wide and too thick. I simply cut it down a bit to fit through the body cut out. The original design had a complicated system of spars and ribs. I couldn't find any good instructions off the web so I just simplified the whole structure and made up box spars. Heavy cardstock from cereal boxes made sure the spars swept back at the proper angle. I also made up some heavy cardstock tabs to join the wings to the center section.
