Been using mount board recently. It's 1.8mm thick with a self adhesive top-layer.
Cuts nicely too. Tim |

sorry, not sure I understand the post?
(I apologize if I am off topic here) are you asking what we use for formers and in this case, Keel and other Boat substructure? I do all my formers with Cereal Box cardboard. I keep a stash of card ready to use. I sand the printed/glossy sides for better adhesion. (Glue them face to face seems to help with any potential warping) I use spray Glue (3M Spray 777) for laminations. I use a Brayer (Roller) to thoroughly laminate the layers. Two layers of card (plus the printed paper template) gives me about 1mm thickness which is what I base all my slots on when designing.

I am a duplicate of Airdave with the exception of the spray adhesive. I use sobo instead.

Well, next to my mill there is a framingshop where a craftsman makes frames and passe partouts by hand, every now and then I go by and pick up some scrappmaterial from his passe partouts which I have used for formers, (depending on the size of the model)
