Thanks Don and Jeff, hopefully I'll actually be able to finish this one "soon".

Yes. I would like to do as many versions as possible, eventually. TWA was the one I had in mind originally. I'm just not sure about that natural metal finish yet. I have enough information to try 4-5 different versions so far. I just need to make sure I put the right scheme on the correct engine/wing/tail combination.

I suppose I can always do a plain white PAA or TWA version for those who still have a stock of Red River paper left.

I've also been working on 2 different scales, 1/72. and 1/48. Apache is the 1/72 version. Preferences, anyone?

I like big models, so I'm voting for 1/48.

It's going to be a wonderful model, I will love to build it, when it becomes available.
A civilian version is what would interest me. KLM was very interested in this type, for their Amsterdam East-Indies route. High ranking members of the KLM technical staff made a test flight in 1938 or '39 and unfortunately crashed, with the fatality of all of them. Albert Plesman then decided he would go for the Lockheed Constellation, and ordered a fleet of several aircraft in 1939 straight from the drawing board.
So if there was no crash, and no Second World War, the Boeing Stratoliner would have flown in KLM colours.....

I'd settle for a 1/72 'what-if' KLM version?

I remember reading about the KLM crash incident. I guess KLM is another version I'll have to consider.

Now I just have to stop making mistakes like today's. I started building the engine nacelles, and discovered I had the colors inverted on the outboards ! Oops. Back to Psp, swap the colors, and re-print. Try again tomorrow.
