Here is the first printed part for the 707II. You can see some banding from the printing process, but I've sanded most of it smooth, plus I will add some filler and paint, which will give it a very nice look when all is said and done.

Eject print? What's that? No it was SLS printed in a white nylon plastic. It's printed layer by layer in very small increments so that you can only barely tell. With a little light sanding there is almost no trace of it having been printed.

You can see all my parts at shapeways.com by searching "707" in their search bar some of the parts are still being refined in 3d and not yet ready for printing. None of them are for direct sale. You have to buy them through me? I am selling the unfinished kit for $600, and the finished, painted kit for $1000. Or at least I will be when it is done.

your picture didn't show very well. it looks like abs plastic injection print to me.i used abs to print a lot of small parts for my 1/6 scale hmmwv project. and all the hmmwv body parts are printed with sls printing. when it was finished. the whole project cost me around 20k.
you not going to sale the sls parts as is, right. even the sls is made of resin, it is by far not as strong as cast resin, and easy to chip or even break in half with large parts, beside that, it is way too heavy to play with.

You paid 20k as in 20,000 dallars to make something? aaaaa...I don't know what to say to that. As for my boat, this whole boat is only 22 inches long. It will not cost more than 400 to make in full. As for casting. Most of these parts are actually very strong and flexible due to thickness, scale and the material. As I said it's a nylon resin plastic. They aren't that large. The largest part is the hull which will be about 3mm thick. I am going to reinforce it with fiberglass and bulk heads. As for weight and playability I have a boat that weighs a hell of a lot more and floats. It's not about weight for RC conversion, it's about ballasting and buoyancy. They make boats out of cement that float due to water disbursement. I have used cast resin that broke more easily. However, all that to say I am very much considering making molds for the sake of cost saving and reinforcing with metal rods and such.
