One comment on the chassis. Its a round tube chassis based off of the roadster chassis; not rectangular tubing. Here's a couple of photos of the frame for #2601 that a friend was building in 1/25. Unfortunately he passed away last year before finishing it.

HERE is a link to Dave Friedman's enormous Shelby American photo archive. I wasn't gonna sit through twenty-five pages of thumbnails looking for what you want, you'll have to do that yourself!!

--And I'm still waiting to send you the documents on .pdf...contact me.

Hi everyone I wasn't around to check the forum before.

@whulsey... Thanks for pointing that out. I was not going for complete realism on the frame of the car, mainly because I could not find enough reference. It never occurred to me to check build threads on plastic models for reference. Now that I have said reference, I might just design a more realistic frame, Thanks.

@ Duster.... Thanks again for the pictures. I might just mention that I'm a perfectionist so the more material you guys give me the more I will want to make it better.

I think I will focus on finishing the exterior only model without frame and engine for you guys to have something to do, while I finish the full detail one. The plan for my model is to make it so that the doors and engine cover will open and even design the wheels to turn, so it will take a while for that to actually happen. We'll see. Thanks again for your comments I will update as soon as I get a chance.

Here's a link to the guy's photos that was working on the plastic version. He got access to Michael Shon's car and photographed it from a model builder's viewpoint so might have some shots you could use. As I memtioned he passed away last year so don't know how long this site will remain up. Cobra Daytona CSX2601 album | BobDavella | Fotki.com, photo and video sharing made easy.

I just wanted to share some updates on the model. I'm doing the first beta build of the exterior model only of the kit. I hope you like it.

Absolutely stunning. Shoot! I'd be proud to have that beta build sitting on my shelf.

Nice work
